It does seem like both teams don't really want the win though. Mavs just got lucky to lose.

Nice try Phoenix. Mavs figured out how to lose. Just freeze Barnes out of the offense in the 2nd half.

The more I think about it the more pissed I get at Cuban. Instead of building a team the right way we gambled and lost over and over again. Letting TC walk twice. Not drafting Giannis. We could be a three seed right now with a legit shot at winning the West. Instead we're some fucking scrubs with malcontent rentals like Bogut. Harrison Barnes was a good first step but please no more bullshit.

As long as they tank, then they are on the right path. This loss is the official tank IMO.
Seems like a wink-wink deal with Bogut to help with that as long as they trade him at the deadline.

Idk I think it's just a mark of them not being good is all. Our best player was 7/9 shooting in the first half? And he gets 4 shot attempts and barely any touches to speak of in the 2nd half. I get that Dwill got the hot hand late but there are 24mins in the 2nd half. I find it hard to believe a good team doesn't get that guy more than 4 shot attempts in 24mins.
Sucks Simba got DNP'd tonight. I thought he had been playing better this last month.

This is the type of game that frustrates the hell out of me. Not sure how many minutes Dirk, DWill and Harris had but seemed they were rarely out of the game.
This is the perfect opportunity to develop youth but we're out there fighting with aging vets at home to beat a young team that is at the bottom of the pack and they couldn't even close the deal.
Anderson and Mejri didn't even see the floor and when Barea comes back I'm sure Curry's minutes will be severely limited.
DWill, Bogut and Harris simply have to be off this roster by the TDL.

I actually think the opposite. I mean, 9 shots in the first half but only 4 in the second? Deron and Devin are talented enough to get people the ball, but it just reeks of a by design nature.
Barnes could have easily scored 30+, but either they are tanking on purpose or the team is absolutely horrible.
Mavs EASILY could have won this game which is why I'm thinking this stuff is on purpose.

The combination of Curry/Williams/Harris were incredible in the third/fourth. I think at one point they had scored 27 of 32 points in a 16 minute stretch and were scoring at a clip of over 80% eFG when you include threes and and-ones.
Rick was obviously trying to win by riding their hot hands, but riding the three guards meant that Barnes went cold. Unfortunately, that's been a trend. Barnes gets a lot of run in the first two quarters then doesn't see it again until the end of the fourth-- and sometimes not even then.
I wish it was a technique to tank, but I think it's Rick sacrificing Barnes' development for a chance at a W.

Yeah I hate to say it but I think it's more on RC and the pg's. Some is on Barnes though, he's gotta know when to demand the ball. When the guards are hot that's fine. He plays entirely too many minutes for just 4 shot attempts. Dwill and Dirk both took 14 shots and Wes took 12. RC doesn't strike me as being down with a wink wink tank either and I don't recall him one time yelling out "HIGH FOUR, HIGH FOUR!!!!" in that 2nd half.

Sounds a bit like what they did with Josh Howard.

Let's hope that it is on purpose, because that would be the best thing for our future. The reason why I doubt this is Dirk. He is quite stubborn on this subject, and always was. I don't think he changed for the last one or two seasons for his career. He doesn't want to tank, so the team will not tank, in any way, shape, or form. Freezing out players happens on every team.
