Anyways, it was a good game. Mexico dominated the 1st half and US in the 2nd. The turning point was when Donovan made that penalty kick.

good game. well officiated. not as chippy as some of the recent mexico-us games. howard came up big, then the rarely seen two-on-none 80 yard run that beasley (highly dissappointed in his career so far) puts off the crossbar. the volley by feelhaber (sp?) from the 18 was gorgeous. very difficult (at least it always was for me, therefore relegating me to keeper).

Wow! What a second half. What a good game
I went to a bar to watch the second half with my dad, and of course I had to ask them to turn it on. I should've went to a mexican bar....that would've been fun

mexico totally outplayed the usa in the first half. ei tri was faster and played much better than they had shown in the tournament to date. although the usa had a couple of good opportunities to put the ball in the net, but sanchez (mexico's goalkeer) was there to stop the shot. mexico scored on a beautiful run and cross to an unmarked man, guardado, who scored easily. 0-1 at half...
whatever the usa coaches said in the locker room at half worked, and the second half belonged to usa. the passing was crisper, the focus was sharper, and the energy was too much for mexico. the final score could have been even greater with the usa missing two easy shots, and both goalies making impressive stops.
it was very amusing to watch the two teams. in contrast to each other, the mexicans and especially their coach were whining to the referees the entire game, while the americans just took care of business. even when the calls against them were beyond question the facial expressions of the mexicans were classic...the spurs could even learn new ones from this group!
it seems that this loss might cost the mexico coach his job. with the players he has and the skill they individually possess, the team's perfomance up until this game was lacking. however, as a mexican frien of mine told me as I razed him about the game, the mexico players seem to act as if they will win just because they think they should as the team that historically ruled north america. they must now understand that they are not the best team anymore.
although the impressive scoreless streak of not allowing mexico a goal was ended (after something like 800 minutes) there is no question of who has the strongest side in north america...USA!
now we just need to truly show up in 2010 for the tournament that matters, world cup.

You're right mavdog....the Mexicans did look like a bunch of Tim Duncans out there when it came to the calls. I like the tact that the Americans showed in the same area.

This is the only futbol thread that was somewhat relevant because it's somewhat international soccer.
I also didn't want to start a new thread.
Anyways...dammit ManU won. Chelsea got freakin shafted.

Also, I revived your thread for you Flac.

Got lucky. Chelsea out-played them 70+ minutes of the 120 minute game. All Terry had to do is spank it to a side of the net, but slipped on the grass. But I wouldn't been happy if Chelsea won either, since I hate Drogba as much as Ronaldo.

Then you probably didn't hear about this story: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...favourite.html
Besides that, he's as big of a diver as Ronaldo. And if he's going to get a red card, knock the crap out of someone, don't slap him like a sis.
