Sabonis's move is strong TOWARDS the basket, while KP's move tends to be AWAY from the basket, which not only makes for a difficult fade away shot, but also makes it impossible to draw a foul call.

Get it down to six
Then like always, give up a super fast and lazy 6-0

Unbelievable
Cut it down to 6 points and then proceed to make 3 straight bone headed possessions including a turnover while you had a 5 on 4 advantage with a pacer down holding his ankle

Jesus we are a pitiful squad outside of Luka. We've made the Pacers defense look like the '94 Bulls.

Pretty sad
Their role players McConnell and McDermott just outplayed our starter Richardson & 6th man THJ
What a waist of a game by KP if they don't make a comeback

I'm guessing KP will sit out tomorrow and Luka will score 40 and not get any help.
Mavs just seem way too comfortable with just accepting the play in tournament.
Denver throws Jokic and Murray out there on B2B's all the time.

Yep. Turner leads the league in blocks, and McConnell leads the league in steals.

Our defense was actually solid
Just didn’t have enough offense to overcome one of the best defenses in the league withott it Doncic.
Pacers are hot. They’ve won 3 of 4
Mavs had a chance, but not with Luka injured

I'm sort of out of touch with the NBA do guys do this as a luxury? I will say that about LeBron...no matter what age....seems like he was playing those b2b's....

All teams do this for just to balance the load on their most valuable assets. Pop started it. LeBron has been rested as much as anyone.

I really can't answer that today's NBA as Kelly Oubre stated is much softer compared to the old days when guys only missed games do to major injuries
Lebron is a machine and he values every game.
Despite playing deep into August dude came back this year and was still playing b2b games out of the gates.
But Donnie said he's confident in his top 11 young talented players.
So I'm guessing they believe even without Luka or KP playing games they feel like they can still win a few games because of the great depth on this team

This is true. Forget this game. Big picture - what is going to change in the next year or two that will make this team better. This is the team we will have for the next several years. Not sure what is going to make these guys a top 4 in West team.

Actually lebron hasn't
I can pull the stats for you if you like
And Jokic + Murray very rarely sit on b2b
Neither does Dame & CJ

It’s entirely possible that Luka has a strained back, and the training staff told Carlisle to pick one-off the two games to rest him. He did play like crap in the Minn game.

Not this season, but in the past LeBron has been rested. Even this season, LeBron and Davis have been listed as questionable most of the time, so they can sit them whenever they want.
Also, Luka rarely rests on back to backs also, so...

I'm just not happy with THJ and Richardson in these types of games when Luka doesn't play.
They rarely step up as the so called 3rd and 4th options on this team.
This is why I said Evan Fournier was a better player than both of them
It's a damn shame the Mavs didn't have the so called assets to get a legit 3rd option or top rotation player this year.
I'm not one of the people who believes they need a star player because they have Luka and KP
They just need someone on that Arron Gordon type of level like Denver just got.
A legit starter to pair with our two studs
Right now you could arguably say Kleber, DFS and even Richardson would be coming off the bench for half the league but they are starters in Dallas.
Will see what Donnie does this next off season

Naw man I've been following the Lakers this year....Lebron is legit hurt now and AD sits out some games but if you see LeBron sitting out its not gonna say "rest" next to his name.
I remember when Pop was the only person doing it seemed like. But I mean I got why he did it he was trying to salvage Parker, Gino and Duncan who all were in their 30's....but for the life of me I can't understand how a 24 year old needs to be rested. Especially in today's NBA that's not nearly as physical as it use to be. Just sit back and launch up a 3 pointer.

Its not really about LeBron vs. Luka. Its more about the NBA in itself.
I get why you'd rest LeBron. Even though he hasn't been rested this year I can understand resting guys like him.....hell even Steph Curry, Draymon, etc. I get resting Kyrie and KD who are coming off injuries. But if you are healthy and are in your early 20's.......I just don't get it. But its the new NBA.

I was gonna say the same thing.
These are the games where Tim and Richardson should show out. Like KP did today. I've seen Richardson in the past play well in his Miami days when guys were out.
To me I expect these guys to step up like how Jrue Holiday and Middleton step up when Greek Freak doesn't dress. But I'm quickly reminded these guys aren't even of their caliber. '
This was my frustration yesterday with the deadline.....guys are trading for guys like Aaron Gordon when they already have Jokic, Murray, etc.....meanwhile, we are asking 4th and 5th options to be our 3rd option and sometimes our 2nd when KP is off. Its literally Luka or die.

I am not counting on Donnie to do much. I still think the miss in the first round this year will come back to haunt the Mavs.
