That is AMAZING for Carlisle to say that...and I think he is right.

Somebody call the waaaaahmbulance.. Murph needs a kleenex ASAP.
Does mavtalk still have threads about Steve Nash's hair? I didn't know it still existed.
W/r/t Kidd, was he lying in the weeds waiting for the stretch run to turn it on, or was the slovenly behavior of Josh Howard bad enough to affect even Kidd? Surely not the latter.

It all seemed to be feeding into (and out of?) the old, "veteran teams know how to turn it on after the All-Star break." thing. I think Josh was no doubt a big factor in how "off" the team switch was.

Mavs record: 6-0. Had we gone 4-2 we coulda been 6th, but along with Dirk, Kidd put the team on his back and hauled us up to 3rd seed.

This would be a piss poor board if every new thread had a "you must post stats!" requirement.
Its nice to have a little sports fun.

I love this thread.
Personally, I come here to talk Mavs basketball, relax, have fun and just try to unwind from grueling everyday stuff known as "life." And I find this forum is very organized unlike some others.
If I don't like a thread, I don't click on it. If I don't like a poster, I put him/her on ignore.
Go Mavericks!

This thread amuses me. I demand more pole vault girl.
Oh and, Kidd has been stellar. But the extensive minutes worry me. I really hope we can get some separation from Utah/Denver should we pass them, so that Kidd and the others could get a little more rest.

During the current winning streak, Kidd has averaged 15.3 points, 11 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.83 steals and 2.0 turnovers. He's also shot 45.5 percent as well as 44.2 percent from 3-point land.

I"m hoping that the team can overcome a poor performance by jkiddo. I'll be interested to see how they do when they get one. He was working on one in the hawks game until the fourth...

It seems to me Kidd always comes out flat in the first half of games. But really picks it up later on. Like he is reserving energy for the final push. If the team is getting blown out, we won't see that push. If it's close we usually do.

This is how Kidd has managed his game for years. Lay in the weeds early. Coaches over the years have depended on the guy way too much, 40 on some nights, thus it's helped Kidd manage his minutes, when to exude most effort and when to keep some in the tank. Look at the great ones, Kobe, MJ, they all looked for others early, why bust my ass for 40, when I can milk everyone early, then push it to the metal, late in the game, if needed. You get some involved early, they will be involved throughout. I think Kidd is a combination of managing his gas tank and involving the entire team early.

The graph? Too far as in too inappropriate? Not the first time I've posted it and hardly as bad as stuff UD routinely posts. Please explain. (Or are you trying to make a joke about JK being > than pole vault girl? If so, then I admit...its pretty dang close.)
