I realized something, U2. Even when B-B's is the largest, when it was new, not in my PC's cache, the download of the page didn't stop. The movements of the dancers started after a while, when all the gif got downloaded, but I was able to read the posts before that, then it didn't bother me. Maybe it's a matter of the browser configuration.

Well you need to understand that an animated gif is basically multiple images that are sequenced together. IE will render the image as it downloads, so that is why you see the first (starting) image before the dancers start moving. It's actually pretty cool how it works.
The itchy and scratchy sig has 12 separate images that make up the animation (as does your kick ass Felix the Cat image) whereas B-B's image is a whopping 82 separate images (that also explains the size discrepancy). SenorFrogs is a modest 36 separate images.

Well actually yes and no. As I stated above, IE renders gif images as it downloads them so the size of one frame of the animated image is really what matters (when it comes to actually being able to see it).
Now if you are concerned with how long it downloads (whether it be for the sake of time in the case of dialup, or size in the case of download limits that some DSL providers will stick you with) - my viewpoint is that it is time for more of the world to move up to a "broadband" connection (and I say broadband loosely as I don't think DSL/cable can be classified as broadband.... unless comparing it to dialup speeds). Not only will you be experiencing the 'net as it should (as Serf intended, not Licklider - he only created the group that produced arpanet), you will be helping out the economy and a flailing telecom industry (not that I really care about the telecom industry, but it has been in a funk for a while).

Wow. Your signature is great. Everyone should have a signature like that then the board will be about cool signatures rather than basketball talk. We can rename the site cool-signatures.com and everyone can be cool like you.
What a hero.

Wow...didn't mean to ruffle your feathers there Max. I'm sorry, I thought when I selected my emotion, , that I meant it in tounge and cheek. But I guess that was hard for you to pick that up. I'll be sure and spell that out to you next time Stanley.

There's a calm surrender to the rush of day
When the heat of the rolling world can be turned away
An enchanted moment, and it sees me through
It's enough for this restless warrior just to be with you
And can you feel the love tonight
It is where we are
It's enough for this wide-eyed wanderer
That we got this far
And can you feel the love tonight
How it's laid to rest
It's enough to make kings and vagabonds
Believe the very best
There's a time for everyone if they only learn
That the twisting kaleidoscope moves us all in turn
There's a rhyme and reason to the wild outdoors
When the heart of this star-crossed voyager beats in time with yours
of course, props to Elton John.

My pms ARE turned on. Maybe you should contact a moderator and ask for a lesson on how they work. You DID send me the same pm TWENTY-ONE times.
And I can't imagine wanting to have a private conversation with someone as inconsiderate as you.

The cliff is 100 feet tall, there is no water below, but beer instead. Only two people are jumping, but it's Mad and Evil so you'd better hurry.

Maybe not the best signature, but Male22Dan has a very well-timed one:
Politicians and diapers need to be changed........... For the same reason!
Edit: In Mexico it applies pretty well. Althoug the new "diapers" come with their own "content" or get it very quick.
