And it should have been over, right there. But of course, the Mavericks would have nothing of that. When Dirk got the basket and the foul, I kicked my legs like a swimmer, then jumped up and down, then paced around the room. At that point I felt that it was ours.
Funny how I never considered the possibility that Dirk would miss the foul shot. I also felt pretty damn sure that the Spurs wouldn't convert on their last possession. It seemed a fait accompli at that point, and who was I to question?
I was moved after the clock expired on overtime, but I wasn't ever close to tears. I guess when you are a Mavs fan as long as I am a Mavs fan you get hardened. If I shed a tear, it'll be when win 16 is in the record books.

Awesome post, I too thought it might be over after Manu hit that three. Thank goodness we have Dirk. I never doubted that he would make that free throw either.

I did shed a tear when the mavs finally took the game. It's been so long and so hard. The series was so stressful that I did shed one in relief and joy.
Popovich said something like coaching in these series you go from despair to relief. Despair if you lose and relief that it's over.
I got a lot of relief going brotha'.

I almost couldn't look when he was about to shoot that free throw, but I was pretty sure he was going to make it, at which point I looked at my dad who said "Did you doubt for a second he was going to make it? It didn't even hit the rim!" Which it did but that's besides the point.

I have learned this season, that you NEVER doubt Dirk. I knew that he'd have it. I did however think it might be over when Manu hit that three.
