I sometimes hit Killeen and Tyler TX. I'd be down to make a trip for a watch party. I have family about 6 hours (I can drive that in my sleep) from Dallas.

I usually don't sleep on Saturday nights...plenty of time to get things done then. Last night, I replaced part of my banister... finished re-finishing it... painted some baseboards.. replaced a window... fun times

seriously?
that's weird...i'm not certain tho whether it's weird in an eccentric but kind of cool way, or weird in an "i'm a closet psychopath" way.

Well, I'm just used to not sleeping or not sleeping much on Saturday nights. Once out of high school, I had to be at work at 4 in the morning on Sundays..so, my friends would usually just drop me off at work when coming home from the clubs or whatnot. I suppose I just got used to being up all night on Saturdays and just going to sleep around 10 at night or so on Sundays to catch up.

I was in dallas on business and got to meet Smiles and MadApe once (geez, forgot what year it was). Watched the NBA draft at MadApe's place. good times.
but that was when it was only cool people on this site, before the likes of sike, flaco, etc. not sure i'd want to hang out with those dudes, after reading the "no cussing" thread.

Hilarious!
I personally have only met one member from the board, (saltwater), and we went to a Cowboys game together. Even though I am WAY down south in lil ol Temple, I would be up for attending a watching party if the night was right, (Friday or Saturday).

I for one would have a great time hanging out with Doc... Some of you have taken this shit a bit too far with the hatred, but whatever. Doc was an Internet buddy of mine and I enjoyed talking to him. If he went crazy and made up a story, still my Internet buddy. If he truly did this and didn't monitor it well enough, well, I think he could have handled it better, but still my Internet buddy. The majority of the people that are hitting him in here, (especially Ark), are doing so because they hate his schtick or because he treated you like shit personally.
To be honest, I loved his schtick and don't give a damn what anyone thinks of that opinion. He made the board fun and a lot was lost when he wrote this story that ultimately meant he was gone for good based on the reactions. If his story is shit and he truly did become LOCO Doc over the past year and just flat mean, he should just say so and continue posting here. Sure, he would need to tone it down or eventually get banned for good, but I am just saying.
Either way, in the end, he is just an Internet buddy. No one on here could leave and affect me personally in my life. Some of you are getting a bit too hot under the collar for how it affects your life. If I ever meet any more of you and actually develop a friendship, it would be different, but as for this moment, only a select few of you are my Internet friends and the rest of you could leave this board without a blink of my eye. I come here for the Mavericks and any Internet buddy friendships are just extra.
I would like to get a watch party together though to change some of that. There are many people on this board that I would LOVE to meet. I would love to meet you Murphy. I would love to meet Evil - maybe more so than anyone else. I would love to meet Doc. I would love to meet Mary. I would love to meet U2, (just to talk shop and prove I know more than him - yes, I do). I would love to meet Sike and talk about his career. I would love to meet Cap. I would love to meet Dalm. I would love to meet 5-0, (just to laugh at him for being so dumb over the years - ). I would love to meet KG and even that dumbass Madape. There are many others that I would like to meet based on our conversations and personalities and I will likely never get to do that. But my point in this incredibly long ramble is that a lot is being made over nothing here. Doc either lied to make himself look better or told the truth and didn't manage a project well. Are either bad enough to go from really liking someone to downright pulling a 360, (no, I am not Kidd stupid, just wanted to use that), and completely hating him, (Erica - you definitely come to mind here).
There is no real reason for me to post all of this and stand up for Doc. It isn't like we ARE real friends or he will post here again. I just think some of you have taken it a bit far and the reactions don't fit the crime, but what do I know.

Well said Dan, I liked Doc a lot when he was year and I think it's too bad he won't be posting here anymore. Whether all this is true or not, doesn't change that for me.

Dan, if you could condense your post down to two paragraphs or less, that'd be great. Otherwise, it's entirely too long.

I agree with Dan. DrBio had it out once or twice during the playoffs last year, but all and all, he is a decent guy. The board is less of a place without him here.

Well, agreeing with Dan really doesn't do much for your credibility.
In all honesty, I am glad that Chum's allowed to post without being flamed. Chum has always been one of the better posters in the Mavs section.. it was unfortunate that he was wrongly flamed for so long without anything being done about it...

Dan, I'm sure Doc is a good guy, and he certainly added a positive element to this board at times. But he also played the role of dictator here. I, for one, think it's a good thing that the board has become much more democratic in his absence.
I also applaud DJ for his efforts in establishing this board as the premiere place on the internet to talk Mavs basketball and all sorts of other stuff. Pretty cool, pretty cool...

I agree with everything here and Murph's post about allowing you to post here without being flamed. Again, as my post said, (and you know you read ever letter Murphy), I would want him to come back and tone it down to avoid future bans.
Again though, that has little to do with the primary point of my post and I think we all know that. Overreaction.

...and Chum, I guess you kinda feel like Cinderella...
Doc had your ass cleaning toilets and washing cupboards while the only noise you were privy to was the sound of a whip cracking, (much like KwaPIEya if one were to try to mimick it), only now to have had the beautiful prince, (lets call him Murphy), come to rescue you from said madness allowing you to freely love your one and only - well, we all know who that is.............Nash!

Its actually called pulling a 180. 360 would be coming all the way back to the original feeling.
and yeah it is that bad. Either he is a liar that continues his bad behavior here or he is telling the truth and he betrayed me-- someone I thought was a friend but was just a collection of college kids trying to pursue their own success without giving a thought to the feelings of those involved.

Hahaha... I will just take the first sentence as stupidity or sarcasm, (I did throw Kidd in there remember).
Regarding that second paragraph - DRA ma... Pure DRA ma... Like I said, a 180 is a bit of an overreaction considering the crime. But I guess the posts on politics by "INSERT COLLEGE GUY", (if you are to believe his story), really betrayed you. Hell you likely agreed with them - IF you read em.
Funny thing is, both Docs are the same to me. The prick he was two years ago is the prick he was these past two. Maybe he was more of a prick, but that comes with age. To tell you the truth, the more I think and think about this, the more I just can't imagine it being true in any way. That actually makes me happier I think. I would rather a "save my ass - lying" Doc, than a "I don't care about you - my project was top dog" Doc.
Either way, overreacting and piling on are definitely going on in this here thread.
As for you Murph, a composed 2 paragraph version will be released in the coming days!

That's right...poor victimized Doc.....
Dan, I'm sure if Doc would've just manned up and came back in a normal fasion, most people who liked him before would've welcomed him back with open arms.
Its certainly your choice to overlook whatever you like, but please save us the the high-horse business about overreactions. People are entitled to their reactions, and they're no less legitimate than yours.

I would say the person demeaning other people's responses is the one on the high horse. I haven't slammed anyone for their response to this situation and I don't begrudge anyone that thinks this isn't a big deal and wants the docs to continue posting.
And if I was on a high horse, its only so YOU could hear me better.

I just think a lot of people are overreacting and that is my damn right to think that. You think I am on a high horse and going poor wittle Doc and, (while incredibly stupid), that is your right to think that.
Lets leave it at that.

famines are so under-rated, you really shouldn't blame the decline of western civilization on an occasional crop-failure induced herd thinning. also, think of the guys with fat wives and girl friends who could really benefit from a good famine.
