Mavs will win tonight but it's not going to be pretty and it's not going to change the fact that this team is heading nowhere unless some kind of change occurs.

maybe he can't outplay your grandma right now, but I see it like this, I'm not a big mavs fan and only watch because Kidd is on the team. But, the Mavericks are at home tonight, I could be wrong, but I thought they didn't have a win at home yet, so that might help them play harder to win this game and on top of that I think they really want to win a game right about now

That's probably true, basketballgirl, but conventional wisdom and logical reasoning doesn't apply to this team right now. If we win it won't be because of any particular reason other than the Magic didn't want it bad enough.

Well, I could search for one, but then I would definitely have to ask myself why I am currently ruining one night after another instead of sleeping just for watching this crap.

It is tautological that teams have to play well[sic] to win games.

I'd say that this is a practically insurmountable 8 point lead for the mavs. I'm going to go ahead and put this one into the win column.

and...now with the entrance of Terry and Stackhouse, dribble penetration is coming incredibly easily. We will not have a lead by quarter's end.

did anybody catch d-howard's line last night? It was like 31 points, 16 rebounds and 10 blocks. I'd "finish" allover my TV if I ever saw a maverick put up numbers like that.

Dirk and his matador defense make me cringe. He hasn't been THIS bad at defending since early Nellie days.

Another game that scares me.... we are running, but the jump shots are falling..... I'll take the win if we get it, but so far it looks like the type of win we got against the Spurs.

vintage mavs!
jason terry hits a jumpshot off a screen and roll
dirk gets doubled, great ball rotation, open baseline 3.
josh pushes the ball, gets his own rebound, kicks out to dirk for 3
purposeful movement, good outside shooting, and hustle. classic 2005-2006 dallas.

you're insane
on the plus side, mavs are playing intelligent ball, and lots of hustle. Dirk still looks bothered, but unlike the last couple of games it's no affecting him this time

Got to close the door on them. They played a good first half. Had they had that kind of first half against the Bulls, they would have won. They had a good first 6 minutes against the Bulls. Then nothing.
24 more minutes left. But I have a feeling that the Mavs will give up the lead either at the end of the third or the start of the fourth, when Carlisle decides to rest Dirk/Kidd/Howard all at once.
