The Mavs were the Lakers Golden State. But the Mavs are a far better team than Golden State was. Golden state was just geared to beat the Mavs while the Mavs of today have the depth and balence to match up with a lot of teams. Some more so than others but they still can match up with any of them.

This is what Sir Charles see's and the reason he picks the Mavs to win it all. He also knew that the Lakers could not match up with the Mavs or exploit their length like they do with most of the other teams in the league. Just because the Lakers could easily beat another playoff team does not mean that the Mavs would also beat them easily. It's all about matchups and also how well you are playing in comparison to how well they are playing when you meet them.

Another good, but wasted basketball commentator is Matt Mosley. In the past when he's focused on basketball, he's show some good stuff. Unfortunately, he spends most of his time battling Galloway for attention and talking about the Cowboys.

I left Norm a long time ago. The guy used to be a master of statistics, but I think he just likes the sound of his own voice, now.
