I wonder how badly he injured his finger? I'm assuming it is fully recoverable?

He said that the finger will still need some time to recover (to let the tendon adhere again), but it will be fine afterwards.

Frank Buschmann... I remember this dude commentating a Heat vs Knicks game in 2000. And he was saying "I know, we all know Dirk Nowitzki is struggling. But let's give this dude some time to settle into this new culture, this new lifestyle. Don't count the guy out yet! Don't give up on him!" He had faith in Dirk, just like I did.
So even if Buschmann is a little over the top silly sometimes in his commentary, I will always have a soft spot in my heart for him.

At the end of the press conference (1:10 of the clip), wow, that was a bit strange, to say the least, and it would never happen in the US for security reasons and all. A strange guy somehow gets the last question and he comes up with three, the final being "I am a bit handicapped, could you sign a two things for me?" And they ask him on stage. He presents a plastic bag, like he lives on the street or something, and Dirk doesn't hesitate to get the stuff out of the bag (not being afraid of the weird things that might be in there). And he takes out a soccer ball (!) which has been signed already by Paul Breitner (!) a soccer player who played in the 70s and 80s, Dirk has fun with the ball, kicking it around and when he finally signs it that dude says Dirk's signature is illegible (!), and Dirk high-fives him and is all class and a bunch more. That was fun to watch.

When the guy said Dirk's signature was illegible, that was a reference to a ING DiBa commercial where a kid says the same thing which leads to Dirk chuckling. I'm not 100 % sure, but I also think they made sure that the guy was known (Buschmann acknowledged some cheers/laughing in the crowd) prior to him getting on the stage, maybe they checked the content in the bag as well.
