A shame, the Mavs didn't sign him last year.

His dad use to show him Magic, Bird, Isiah tapes and take him and his brother out to the park to imitate the moves.....the kid is reaching into his bag of tricks collected along the way. It's good for him. I remember he helped his high school win a State Title from a "David" role. Always in the underdog role, had to earn everything he has, no D1 offers, not even from the local schools, packed up, went to Harvard. I don't know man, when I watched what GSW did, with him a year ago, sure he can play, but local kid, an ABC, great marketing tool. New ownership guarantees him a full season, unprecedented for an undrafted rookie, barely gets any burn at GSW, now he's taking the league by storm, GSW knows marketing, but not basketball. Sure weak opponent, but this is the NBA, you have a challenge every night and he's taking his opportunity and hopefully gives D'Antoni a hard decision.

I'm definitely a fan of the kid but sometimes players just fit better in certain places. I think NY is a better place for him than Dallas. Also, the last 3 games might have been weak opponents; but he did match up against Deron Williams and Wall in 2 of those games. The game last night vs Washington was also without Melo or Amare and the Knicks are not deep at all. I definitely enjoy what he is doing.

Lin would fit in to RC's system, but our quantity of PG's was stacked. He wouldn't have seen much time with us at all. I'm not going to look at the quality of opponent, but the consistency to bring it night in and night out, plus/minus, especially with his role as the 1. He's more Kidd, than Paul, he's a distributor first, scorer 2nd. He gets everyone involved. DAntoni's got a big decision when Melo, Davis comes back, Lin, get all 5 involved, similar to how he was running things in PHX, or iso ball with Melo in the corner. If Amare and Tyson has anything to say, that kid's going to be the starting 1 for the rest of the season. The pick and roll opportunities gives them a whole new look. You let Melo play the Dirk role in isolation when certain situation dictate. Use the other 3 guys to work offensively for 3 quarters, then it's Melo time.

its been pathetic from time to time this year. when his man gets open he doesn't even make the effort to close out and apply pressure by running at him.

Or it could mean Roddy is out of the rotation.

That is not the case. If you are a PG, SG, SF, or PF, you must be able to hit a jump shot in RC''s system at a good clip. Secondly, the Mavs don't run the middle Pick n Roll like NY/PHX. The Mavs run a sideline PnR which is geared towards getting an open jump shot. Barea became successful in RC's system when he started hitting the 3 ball (which Lin hasn't shown much of) at a good clip. That kept the lane open for him to get the rim, and even with his speed and playing off of Dirk, he still got many of his shots contested at the rim.
Lin is in a very good system for his strengths and having Tyson Chandler as the screener in a middle PnR set gets no better . But his strengths do not translate to all 29 other NBA teams hence him bouncing around the league.

Not really. Terry has a hip-flexor hence his offensive struggles. It maybe his turn to get some "rest" like Kidd and Dirk.

So without that jump shot, he'll probably get the Kidd treatment, and it'll be 4 on 5. There were many times where it was odd having Kidd out there with 5 feet of empty space in front of him.

Haha, yea, looks like Roddy will still get some burn, if Terry is down. Lets see how he does in Terry's role.

Terry takes too many shots, he should understand VC is second scorer now.
