At least he didn't cry and roll around on the floor again. He just needs to keep that finger tape.

I do. The wins and losses don't bother me. However, it gives a good insight of whats working and what is not.

This team is ridiculous. We've barely even got started, and the wheels have already blown completely off this thing. Outside of Crowder, there's not a man on this team--actually, in this entire organization--who has the mindset and willpower it takes to be a winner. Lollygag, lollygag, lollygag...they just lollygag their way through the motions. It's like the Lamar Odom cancer took root and spread.
I'm afraid it's going to be a long, long season, boys. And it's only going to get longer. Might as well accept that sad fate now, rather than keep your hopes up only to have them summarily extinguished.
When do pitchers and catchers report?

Just checked the boxscore and noticed that Bernard's +- kind of stands out, was he able to be a presence out there, or is it just a coincidence?

Yeah its hard to panic since this is just pre-season. Their game vs the Rockets looked really good so I know they can play better.

You know how much it hurt? And that his rolling around was too much? Or do you know that it did not hurt? Tell me.

Don't know what the attitude is for, but I was pointing out Roddy's new disposition. Many members of the team and media made jokes at his expense about how he reacted after he dislocated his finger in the Chicago game last year. re: Dirk's Old Yeller comment. This time Roddy just walked off the court.

Does any one know what kind of injury that prevented Kaman from playing? Thought I heard something about a calf injury, but is there more information somewhere?

I wonder if that will keep him from all those hunting activities he loves spamming twitter with.

1) If anyone has thoughts that this team is gonna make a deep playoff run and actually contend with a bunch of new pieces this season, I'd love an explanation as to why. I'd love to feel like that. On paper we have a good team, but you have to actually play the games and chemistry on and off the floor is a big big part of it. Kaman is injury prone and just so happens to be a MAJOR piece to our team. Hell he's already missed time, not much reason to think this year will be a different and healthy one. Roddy has trouble staying healthy too, leaving us constantly wondering what he can give. Several others are aging including our heart and soul Dirk.
2) It's preseason.
My outlook until proven otherwise is to see if a few of these guys can start building a bridge from Dirk to life after Dirk. Crowder is gonna be a damn good player and I hope a couple of the other youngsters like, Mayo, Collison, J.Cunningham and James can learn from these vets and bring it.

There isn't a semi-star in the bunch on this team right now.

Cuban is allowed to rebuild. I'll give him a few years. I think it was stupid to not to push all in for a couple years after winning the championship, because I don't think he gained any extra time by starting early, but it's his money. I will still be a fan, because the Dallas Mavericks are pretty much a monopoly to me.

are we really talking about rebuilding after losing a pre-season game with no Dirk and no starting center?

Noone believed that the Mavs had a chance to go deep and eventually win a championship in the 2010/11 season (except me!! ; ) )
As the season went on the mavs lost one piece for the whole season of which they thought it would be urgently required, caron butler.
Still, they eventually won it all. The loss of butler was just one mosaic of a lot more things that were making it most unlikely.
Consider me as an extreme optimist but i believe the mavs can win it all this season until they prove me otherwise.
