See, that's why teams like going small. They are isolating KP on the perimeter and making him look foolish. And he's not even playing with Boban right now.

He's actually doing a good job staying on smaller players, but they are just making tough shots.

Good foul by DFS after a major breakdown in transition defense.

I mean, if you think getting blown by for layups is doing a good job, then sure.
I'm not hating on the dude, I love him. I just like him a lot better when he's around the basket on defense.
I agree that he's better than most big guys against those 1-3 dribble pull up moves all the wings in NBA make a living shooting. But, when the entire court is open, he doesn't have a chance.

Yep I love the lineups that have size
It might not look pretty offensively but this team scores enough points they just need size to rebound and help defend better
Smaller lineups cause more defensive issues for us

He's not getting blown by though. Every one is contested.

The thing is, Zubac killed them on the offensive glass at the very beginning of the game, and scored in the paint like 3 times.
I think the slow-footed lineup hurts them more on defense than it does on offense, personally.

That should have been an offensive foul on Leonard if anything. BS.

I think defensively they played really well with the size on the floor
Leonard has made some tough shots and got a few cheap fouls
But overall I think the big lineups allow them to matchup and compete better the clippers as opposed to a smaller lineup where Leonard always seem to kill us

Ok, so what are you calling "the big lineups?"
The only one I hate is when Boban and KP are on the floor TOGETHER, which only lasted a few minutes and was very quickly scrapped after they fell to an early deficit. We haven't seen it since.
Just by the nature of the roster, I think the Mavs are setup to play with a lot of size, in general.

Ok, yeah. I like those, too. A lot.
And to be clear, I'm not a Boban hater. I think he's a great backup center in a lot of situations.

And see this why I hate the small ball
It puts DFS on Leonard and Hardaway on George
Those are not good matchups for the mavs
Not sure why they keep trying to get away playing that way it makes the defense and rebounding worse

Yeah, so that's too small to be ideal against this team. But try to cut the coach some slack, because the roster is set up for Powell to be the missing piece you guys are wanting. If Kleber starts, they might be in trouble during the bench stretch.

Man, Zubac doesn't get enough credit. I don't think many people who don't follow the Clippers know he's this good. I know I had no idea before this season.

Welp this little squad getting killed on the boards and can't matchup makes them scramble more on defense and less effective contesting shots

He DID try it both ways tonight, though. To start each half. Neither approach was successful.
It was that lineup you mentioned with KP, Kleber and DFS that got them back into the game early, but like I said, I think he feels like he needs Kleber off the bench.

Your not going to get stops when you roll out a perimeter defense of Hardaway, burke and doncic that's a recipe for disaster
It leaves way too many matchup issues
