Makes you wonder what Cuban said to the team to light a fire in them a week ago

5-2 with the full team, and one of the losses was by a point.

In other news. Check out the line Saddiq Bey put up tonight, as the Pistons beat the Celtics.

Also worth looking at delon’s and dsmith jr’s lines - efficient/actual production?

Hernangomez has got to be one of the worst NBA players I’ve ever seen.

Did you that notice Zion and Adams got 6 rebounds between the two of them? We had 4 players who got 6 rebounds
Adams had that wrecking crew line of 4 points and 4 rebounds

Your going off one game bro
would you like for me to show you stats as to how effective they've been on a bigger sample of games?

I've watched the Pistons a few times this year and the biggest difference I've seen with Wright is that he attacks the basket more frequently and he seems to have a good grasp of their offense.
I also think Wayne Ellington has been really solid for them as well.
By years end though I think they will have Bey starting at SF and move Grant to PF.

What's your point though? You said that "Van Gundy just lets them do what they do best which is wreck people inside and don't worry about analytics." The implication seems to be that Carlisle doesn't let his players do what they do best, and that he worries about analytics too much. If that's what you mean, I don't see it. It doesn't seem to me like our guys are playing out of position or trying to do things they're not good at. We just don't have any guys that are capable of "wrecking people inside."

Great win but you'd think we should have won by 30 shooting 56% from 3.
If we would have ONLY shot 47% we would have lost.
Still some work to do but it was nice to get another win.

Dirk’s fadeaway performed by Doncic on the silhouette of Dirks fadeaway.

Mavs are giving it up the most points per game in the NBA over the last 6-8 ball games I believe.
Unfortunately based off of Rick's comments after the game he's not even sure...
Said that they'll keep trying....

(My shot - from the Hamilton Mixtape)
That's what i dream of for Luka - to take the torch from Dirk and man has he worked on that sweet fadeaway! Someone called it "poetry" when he did it from an earlier game thread (i think it was a bank shot) and that's what i think of now - that shot is looking beautiful, not the same as Dirk... but "poetry" in its own right, and another step towards grabbing the torch from Dirk and leading us to a chip.

I can read stats as well as you do
But don't bring up their ability to wreck games into a game where they didn't wreck the game. Zion was great but the other member of the wrecking crew you mentioned was towed away from the game
And the Pelicans are going to maybe have two All Stars and have had no real injury concerns. Plus they've played a middling schedule based on Strength of Schedule. And yet they are among the worst teams in the NBA (only 7 teams with a worse winning percentage)
The path they chose is not a winning one

They've won about half of their last 8 games if that's what your were asking.
But I guess the bigger picture is can that style of defense win playoff games?
We've all seen it win regular games but ultimately I'm sure many fans would like to see improvement on that end of the floor unless you feel otherwise.
I guess that's why Rick always raises a concern over it because he's pointed out it'll to be tough to advance if you can get stops.
Hope that answers your question

Did you see any post where I said New Orleans was a good team?
I mentioned their front line was pretty damn good.
You provide one game sample, I'm talking about over the course of the full season Adams and Zion have been terrific in doing what they do best.
Telling me about their team is meaningless because that frontline is doing their jobs.
That's like the equivalent of blaming Luka when the Mavs front court don't do their job on the same level as he does..
New Orleans backcourt isn't on the same level as their front court. That's why they aren't winning games not because of the Zion/Adams frontcourt.

LOL
You win
I will ignore the fact that this dominant duo is averaging 32 points and less than 16 rebounds together. Stats are unimportant

In the last week we jumped from 14th to 9th
With the loss by the Warriors last night, we’re now only 1 game back of the 8th spot
In the west, only Spurs, Rockets, Nuggets have an easier schedule going forward (of the revealed games)

I'm going to go ahead and predict that we will make the playoffs again this year. Unfortunately though, I think it is another first round exit.

Playoffs are all about matchups
Right now judging from what I've seen so far to date the Mavs would really struggle vs LA Lakers or Utah
But after that with a healthy roster I think the Mavs matchup very well with Denver or LA Clippers.
Those are the 4 teams who I believe will eventually capture the top 4 seeds out west.
Phoenix and Portland are dark horses and scare me because the Mavs just don't have an answer those two teams backcourt. But the good thing is I believe Dallas would avoid either of them in the 1st round because of seeding.
