Manu, the guy who invented modern flopping, blocking Harden cleanly, the ultimate flopper, from behind? Weird.

Harden even whipped his head back like he always does when he gets fouled. He didn't seem to complain at all though because he knew it was a clean block.

Lowry, Paul, Hayward, and Ibaka all can turn into the best free agents quick after this second round.

Well actually Ibaka has been discussed about in free agency. Feels like I'm under a rock!

Ibaka and Dallas? WTF are you talking about? We're dumping our money into Noel and then leaving our bigs alone.
Crawl back under your rock.

There are sports journalists who write about every free agency possibility because there's nothing else to write about and they need to earn a paycheck somehow, but I'll tell you right now that the Mavs have no interest in him (price) and he has no interest in the Mavs (ring-hunting)... Same with JJ Redick (but add age to the equation).

So.. yeah I just see free agency being upgraded better than people think after this draft.

What does this sentence mean (in relation to the Mavs)?

Oh the possibility of trading Wes. Or other players to create cap. Free agency is going to work better than the deandre circus.

Sounds like a Donald Trump word salad... Why would we trade away our swingman just so we can add a similarly-overpriced forward who we don't need? What does Deandre Jordan have to do with anything??
You do know we're a lottery team and not a playoff contender, don't you? Free agents don't exactly swarm to lotto teams unless they're willing to overpay. We're not doing that for anyone than Noel.

Did somebody mention President Trump?
It's funny you say that when Dirk would be retiring then. He's sticking around because it can be a team that can get into playoffs. Then see how it plays out. Like 2011, you remember.

That roster had prime Jason Terry, old but still very effective all timer Jason Kidd, defensive rebounding stalwart Shawn Marion, prime Caron Butler, prime Tyson Chandler, prime Brendan Haywood, prime JJB, up and comer Roddy B, up and comer Ian Mahinmi, etc. etc.
Oh and prime some weird and goofy looking German dude. Whatever his name is...
You downright insult that team by even mentioning it with regards to the current Mavs.

Caron Butler was prime here? I think you spelled injured wrong.

Don't forgot that crazy MF Stevenson and The Janitor Brian Cardinal! Every team needs players like them.

He was pretty darn good before that injury though and actually started over Marion most games I believe.

Butler played pretty much his usual ball here...points and boards were some down but just because he saw less minutes/shots.

I'm not comparing them to the championship roster. I'm saying how this new team assembled this summer has the potential to be underrated. You're missing the point.

Or you just suck at making your point... It's one thing to say "underrated", it's another thing to say "underrated like the 2011 Mavs team" -- you're absolutely drawing the comparison when you phrase it that way.

I don't think the point was missed. The point wasn't very clear just like most of your posts.

Again... being how this years team is still assembled with key vets. Some with finals experience. With a mix of some athletic younger players. Also depending what happens this offseason. The team can turn into an underrated competitive team we haven't seen in a while.

Fine, that may be true.
But it has nothing to do with the 2011 team's expectations. That was a perennial playoff/near contender team that was always a piece or two away.
The current Mavs are a non-playoff team that might sneak in to the 8th seed if they stay healthy.
Do you understand the difference now?

Probably unfair but I don't even consider him a factor for us regarding the champchip.

Obviously he wasn't a factor on the court, but I think I remember some of the players saying they pushed themselves a little bit harder watching CB rehab as hard as he did. Remember he was almost cleared to come back and play in the finals. Had the series extended to 7 games I bet he would have gotten in the game. He wasn't here long, but I loved what CB brought to the table. One tough SOB.
