I am tempted to say that it's all Melo's fault that the Knicks have lost four of their last six because he gives me the impression that he loves to be the center of attention and is not really willing to share the spotlight with a nobody and change his game to accommodate the newbie. He is already hinting that it's difficult for him to not have the ball in his hands and run the offense. Well, he should remember that it didn't work before Linsanity. Having said that, I think D'Antoni should try bring Lin off the bench (not to make CadBane happy, of course) and start Davis. Then he could get Melo more touches in the early going and make sure super star is getting the spotlight. Lin off the bench has a lot of advantages, less pressure for the kid, less star power on the court to worry about, playing against second-string PG on opposing teams, playing with second unit players like Shumpert, Novak, and Jeffries who have great chemistry on the court, and less minutes of playing time, which will give him more energy for fast break plays and drives to the basket, he can also lean back and get a feel for the game and the opponent in the early going. If Davis sucks, he can come in early or finish the game.

Melo and Amare are kinda sucking... 6/20 combined today.
Let Lin thrive!!

Tony Parker puts on a clinic against Lin. The Knicks suck as a whole. So obvious that Melo won't beat the Spurs with his iso plays paired with poor shooting and lazy defense.
Would be interesting to see Melo getting hurt and not playing for a week or so.
Linsanity is almost completely gone by now.

As is often the case with empty hype... If he wasn't playing in front of the NYC media bias, then nobody would give a crap.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - you can't WRITE a team out of futility (although that fact sure as hell isn't going to deter anyone in that city from trying to write Peyton Manning into a friggin' Jets uniform - NYC sports columns are 100% fanfic!)

I wouldn't say it was empty hype. He was playing at an elite level during the height of linsanity. Was it overblown? Of course - the media was out of control. But I wouldn't call it empty.

Great game by Lin in Milwaukee right now. Maybe D'Antoni found something here. Playing Lin and Davis together. Very explosive duo. Now if the Knicks could play better defense or trade Melo or Amare for something more useful, the could be very good.

They lost the game because they are lazy on defense. Not having Chandler didn't help either. Not sure whether the plus/minus is meaningful or not but Lin was +13 while Melo was -5. Melo gets his points somehow, but overall he sucks because his plays are often momentum killers. They should trade him and that's what a lot of Knicks fans want right now. Trade him and get Phil Jackson as coach.

Lin played a good game (on offense). I'm just saying, things aren't working.

Haven't seen Lin play in a while but good to hear he had a good game. Curious if he and Melo are meshing better now on offense..
Also curious what NYK W-L is with Anthony. Even before Lin, they probably needed a shakeup.

I think it is 6-1 without Melo and 2-6 with him. Not all his fault, though. They had tougher opponents and played some games without Chandler and Jeffries.

I meant since trading for him.. they must be .500 at best?
Melo is the new Patrick Ewing theory.

With all of the whiners on these boards, at least the Mavs didn't pay a zillion dollars for Melo/Amare/Chandler just to be four games under .500.

Horrible shooting day for Lin. 18 shots is too many anyway, even if he had made more.

Yeah, someone needs to explain to me why he is going 5-18 with Melo & Amare on the court. Also, he is really, really being exposed on defense lately.

Teams have shut the down the PnR, so no more "just have to beat one guy to get a layup" offense.

Yeah, but like BBL said, he shouldn't be taking 18 shots period.

Well at the height of linsanity, there was no melo. So he did need to shoot more. But at this point, no way.

Lin looked lost this time. The good thing for him is that he gets all the time in the world to figure things out. That is something other young players can only dream of. During the forth quarter the Knicks played with the same energy and determination like they did in February when Linsanity was in full swing. That has nothing to do with Melo and Amare sitting the whole quarter of course. Well, I think it does. Those two guys are in the same league as present-day Lamar Odom when it comes to playing with heart and wanting to win by all means. Hope they will never play for Dallas.

If the Knicks want to have any success in this season, they should do one or more of the following:
1. Fire D'Antoni
2. Trade Melo or bench him
3. Trade Amare or bench him
4. Try starting Baron Davis
5. Bench players who break up plays or fail to play defense

D'Antoni resigned.
Now it gets interesting, Melo is a joke of a star, they need someone not afraid to bitch-slap him.

Without D'Antoni, wonder how much value Lin will retain. Can't see Woodson as the permanent coach next season, Phil Jax, Jerry Sloan....dare I say it Nellie?

I doubt JackZen or Sloan come out of retirement to coach this mess...
I'd love to see Isiah Thomas at the helm again - he'd fit right in with this disaster of a squad!

Yep, having to build a championship team with "characters" like Melo and Amare can't be fun, especially not in a market like NYC.

Now that Melo has proven to everyone that he can share the ball, I wouldn't be surprised to see him jacking up contested jumpers and slowing down the Knicks offense again in the next game.

As much as I dislike the Knicks, no one deserves that kind of fate... except the Heat.

First the hyper-hype, now the hyper anti-hype. People like the extremes.
Today's game showed that the Knicks can be successful with Lin, Amare, Melo on the court. I thought Melo would return to his former selfish self this time, but he actually seems to have bought into the team concept. The Pacers will be ready tomorrow, that's for sure.

Well, well, well...where are all the people calling me ridiculous for saying that I don't think he's a future starting PG? He might be coming off the bench soon...and it's still his essentially first year.
