Grizzlies have come back from 20 down to take the lead in San Antonio. Something to keep an eye on.

TP left the game with a calf contusion and won't return. One of the refs torn his ACL/PCL/MCL (not sure which) and they are doing the rest of the game with two. Blair slipped on the ball and almost injured himself.
Also, the Spurs got a tech FT at teh beginning of the 2nd half when the Grizzlies weren't ready to start but the refs were.
Weird game.

None of that is weirder than the Spurs announcer admitting Ginobili traveled.

I don't know what's worse. The fact that the Spurs just won another close game, or that i actually tortured myself for over half an hour by listening to Sean Elliott.
Seriously...is there anything more annoying than his screaming outbursts everytime the Spurs make a good play?

Sean Elliot and Stacey King should announce a game together.

Heat are an "elite" team, losing to a knicks team with a bunch of new players @ home, allergic to beating elite competition period.
Still worthy of being in the top 3-5 of all power rankings.

1 game?
Obviously they improved. They traded for an all-star caliber player. Keep in mind, Camby is still out.
Now, I don't think Portland is suddenly on par with L.A. as far as being dangerous, like a certain poster does. But they certainly improved with the trade.
Also, as I mentioned earlier, I think Roy coming back really hurts them. A lot.
1. Roy is nowhere near old Roy, he will never be.
2. Roy removes the total reigns from LMA, under which they were thriving.
3. Roy takes minutes from Wallace/Batum/Rudy. All three guys fit the team better.

Portland, New Orleans, and Memphis losing today, along with Phoenix winning makes the bottom of the West playoff picture even more jumbled:
5. New Orleans
6. Denver 0.5 GB
7. Portland 1 GB
8. Memphis 2 GB
9. Utah 2.5 GB
10. Phoenix 3 GB
If New Orleans wasn't in a free fall (3-7 in their last 10) they'd have a shot at catching Oklahoma City, especially since Perkins is out a couple weeks.

Don't sleep on the Rockets either. If they beat Portland tomorrow, they'll probably win the next three (at Clippers, Pacers, at Kings) and be back in the race at 34-31.

Denver/Memphis are about the only teams that worry me much in the bottom bracket. Denver because of that crazy mile-high junk and they are crazy enough to have nothing to lose. Playing at a skillion miles/hour.
Memphis because of crazy athleticism.

I didn't like the Denver matchup before because of Melo and Billups, but now I'm pretty comfortable with them. Dirk always kills their frontline, and with Tyson, Nene isn't the problem he used to be. Gallo and Chandler are good players, but not world beaters. Afflalo seems to give us trouble. The reason I hated them before is Billups always seems to have one of his 5 or 6 three-point nights against us. Same with Melo, even though he's only a mediocre three-point shooter.

You know, im really sick of these spoiled ass NBA players refusing to play unless they can play for a title contending team....I mean what happened to the good old days when a player played thru thick and thin until the team was finally talented enough to contend?

The NBA should fine Troy Murphy for having the audacity to think he can choose a team.
Its not like he's the last missing piece to a championship team
Oh and FYI Boston Perkins > Murphy

He could be that last piece for Boston. In fact, I think losing Perkins won't be a huge loss for them as long as they don't play Orlando or LA. The bigs they have right now are sufficient to beat any other playoff team...

I love how we always seem to win on nights when the Spurs lose (5 games behind...)

Hell, this year he's not even mediocre. He was 29% before their game with the Heat Sunday. Dunno what he is now. But you wouldn't know he's 29% from the way that 4th quarter went down against the Mavs.

Like Cad said, they've most certainly improved. Doesn't mean they're an elite team who won't lose games they shouldn't, though. And there are a lot of variables with them right now.

Murphy needs to score to make up for his lack of defense, will be interesting to see if he still can, he rebounds pretty well though and C's are one of the worst rebounding teams in the league so far.
What if they have to play Chicago? Boozer/Noah plus Gibson off the bench? That is pretty good

That's because Boston leads the league in fg%...less chance for offensive rebounds
first post BTW
