SAS - Massively improved. Already superior.
HOU - Improved. Already better.
OKC - Finally got healthy
GSW - Stayed mostly the same, but swept us.
LAC - Stayed the same, dominated us.
PHO - Much improved. Already beat us last year.
POR - lost a lot, but still better
UTA - much improved. Over .500 to finish the year and got even better
NOP - Improved. Already better.
MEM - Much improved. Already significantly better
----------
SAC - Probably going to fall on their face, but if they can make Rondo work and Boogie keeps it up, they could dominate us as well.
Those are ten teams that are either guaranteed or very likely to be better than us next year.

Hell, I'm wondering if Wolves are better than us now. At least their fans have something to look forward to.
I personally think Lakers and Denver are the only teams worse than the Mavs and at least they have some decent young players to start building with.
There is no reason not to tank now and keep our pick.

Bright side....Rondo's and Jordan's mental weaknesses surfaced before we committed to them.
Now they are someone else's problem.

Rondo cost us a first rounder so unless we can tank and get 1-7 overall in the lottery, we are boned. He destroyed our chemistry and cost us a valuable pick.

@espn_macmahon: DeAndre Jordan's change of direction might be most destructive moment for Mavs since Roy Tarpley's suspensions.

I'm afraid we won't have to try very hard to tank this season.

Not even close. At least Tarpley had an addiction that people can at least somewhat relate to. Reneging 10 days into free agency on a max contract to be a franchise player is unheard of. When you start playing video games after it...is borderline mental retardation.
And reports are that Jordan changed his mind YESTERDAY. This shit is on him. I hate the Clippers, fine, but this shit storm's beginning, middle, and end is Jordan.

And that problem would have been compounded had we signed him to a LT deal and signed Jordan as well.
No chance of winning with those knuckleheaded weak minds.

Can't believe what happened tonight. Reading through all the craziness it looks like Jordan got cold feet and isn't half the man he proclaimed to be. What an immature coward. Clippers locking him up until he signs a contract has to be looked into by officials, but it's not helping us and no way I want that pussy on the team now anyway. And the worst thing is that nobody will give a rats ass about DJ's behavior when the season starts. Everybody will just point fingers at the team that failed to upgrade once again. Clippers players already posting gloating pics and tweets that make me wish like punching someone.
This is bad. For the team, reputation, Dirk. Cuban and Donnie have always gotten grade As when it came to front office ratings, but there has been that one flaw of not getting enough star power on the team. Parsons was nice, but this could have potentially been the huge step for us on so many levels. Instead our post-championship vita reads like this: Odom, failed to get Deron, failed to get Dwight, Rondo, failed to get DJ.
So many implications. What about Carlisle now? Fegan & Mavs?
What's worst this pretty much seals the deal of Dirk getting another chance to contend while at the same time we're not really in a position to tank either because our picks belong to other teams. Thanks Rondo again. It's just fucking great. That might be my initial disappointment, but I can see me skipping the next season now. I can't really stay up all night to watch Mavs games from Germany like I used to anyway, but have re-lived or at least watched summaries daily.
And hey, in case you missed it: The Spurs got homegrown LMA, who probably won't screw them and return to the Blazers.

If Fegan "pushed" Jordan, then why wouldn't that be reported by anyone? Or at least hinted at? All I heard was that Parsons had a lot to do with it, and Jordan wanted a bigger role that Dallas was willing to give.

@KBergCBS: DeAndre Jordan signs a 4-year, $87.7m deal with Clippers, with a player option after the third year, league source tells @CBSSports.

I've heard plenty about DAJ feeling like he was being directed towards the Mavericks by Fegan. Fegan and Cuban have a pretty well-documented history. That doesn't surprise me.
And from everything I've heard, the Mavs were giving Jordan a bigger role than his past history has demonstrated that he was capable of carrying.

I'm gonna say this: Jordan said he felt like being pushed to Dallas by Fegan, which I'd really accept as the one reasonable explanation. Those agent shitheads have way too much power. He even took less money to stay with the Clippers. It's safe to say he wants to be there. Don't wanna amnesty that prick, but Fegan deserves a great deal of blame as well.
Hope that mofo will come up for this mess rather sooner than later.

@NateDuncanNBA: How cursed a franchise would Dallas appear had it not been for that remarkable 2011? Good thing flags fly forever.

Cuban needs to hire a Psychiatrist for recruiting. He's picked up, traded for, or attempted to sign players (Odom, West, Rondo, Jordan) with serious mental problems.

With CA state income tax factored in, isn't he going to make less money than he would have with the Mavs?

DJ thinks he's in the same category as Howard and I have to agree he is.
One is as wishy-washy as the other.
Knowing what I know about both of them (and DWill) now I can't say I'd want any of them on this team.
I'm ready to start from scratch...this should push Cuban in that direction.

Odom, Rondo, Jordan — Mavs fans sold their soul for a championship in 2011, apparently this is the price we had to pay.

The thing that makes me saddest is that Deandre is not an isolated case. He's a perfect example of a generation of parents -- particularly of athletes-- who don't parent. They serve. They don't teach character or morals. They don't train kids to be respectful and treat others well. They treat them like kings. They do their laundry and buy them cars. In the case of athletes, they treat their kids like investments. They serve them like slaves now and when the kid makes it pro, ma and pa get a house and a car. A retirement account. We have a generation of people who think lying is okay, that "ghosting" (as Deandre did today) is just fine. You don't have to show respect by communicating. You don't have to say please and thank you. That is incredibly rare in this generation and even rarer among professional athletes who were groomed since middle school. Dirk should be the norm, but he's not. He's the knight in shining armor for just being the respectful, normal dude that everyone should be. It's ridiculous and sad and I may have had a few alcoholic beverages.

This is exactly how I feel. Tyson loved this city and loved playing for us. Why couldn't we just have paid him? It's like we didn't learn from the 2011 offseason debacle. The craziest thing to me is we now actually have some folks on here somehow upset that Tyson left. Why should Tyson sit around and wait for the Mavs to chase "big fish" even though he had already proven himself numerous times to this team? Tyson did the right thing for himself and his career if you ask me. Just sucks that we keep chasing after these big name free agents and we continue to get burned. Now watch in a few months after the burn of this debacle begins to fade a bit, we'll start chasing yet another big name free agent and the same thing will happen yet again.

Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm glad LMA signed with SA.
Wouldn't have done much for us but gives the West another team that should be able to keep the Clips from winning it all.

We're lucky to have him on our team and in Dallas.
Look forward to him breaking records again next season and that will be one of the only bright spots about him continuing to be one of our best players if not the best.

Yup, I'm pretty sure the Warriors, Spurs, Rockets, and the Grizzlies can take out the Clippers. The Clippers still have Chrissy Paul who loves to yell at everyone because he has short man syndrome, and they even went and added Mr. Lance Stephenson. I'm pretty sure that team will have an implosion way before the playoffs even start. I cannot wait to see them fail as they do every single year. Fuck LA.

Like someone said. Most of all i'm sad about dirk who have sacrificed so much for the team and then there are guys like DJ who doesn't give a fuck a about commitment. I hope that the Clippers and their players fail like they did this year.

When asked who "won" in this:
Haberstroh: Twitter advertisers. This saga was made for Twitter. I know for a fact that the Clippers' core at Jordan's house were refreshing Twitter just as maniacally as we were. And loving every second.
I seriously can't even.

This really is the worst thing. And the media will eat it up and continue to suck the asshole of Clippers. Never seen sports media encourage this bushleague behavior.
I cant watch the season this year. I seriously cannot get over this.
