Well, the newest update says George and Wright are both going to Toronto and Humphries is coming here.

So there will almost certainly be no more trades.

The acquisition of Ross suddenly takes on a much larger spotlight.

For now, Rejoice, we just made some decent moves, why worry about next year. I think Bosh here could be cool offensively but overall it is cramming a square peg into a round ho.
I agree there would have to be some adjustments to be made and our options won't be limited to Bosh, but I just feel he is the most likely superstar candidate to come to Dallas. I don't think it would be a problem defensively and it would give us enough talent to be a true contender.

any truth to the rumor that the Mavs are inquiring on Jason Richardson or Michael Redd?

No kidding. I'm a little sad to see Wright go, but I think Ross will turn out to be a better fit.

Same here, but not a bad return on him considering Wright was a throw-in in the Kidd trade.

YEah, I could see how a lot of other players would have the interest in coming back home to play. I'm just not sold on that lineup defensively or hurting Gortats feelings . I hope Gortat can sure up the starting spot and be here for a while holding it down.

Still, you aren't rejoicing enough

Yea kinda didn't want wright to go, if he is indeed on his way out.

Especially with the improvement he showed last season, another year or two, he could of been a fairly solid SG.

So do we get a press conference tomorrow? Or do we wait until next week and hopefully do a combo Gortat/Marion presser.

I would actually like to see us resign Bass now also. That way Singleton could be the designated back up 3

Gortat / Damp / Hollins
Dirk / Bass / Hollins
Marion / Singleton
Howard / Terry / Ross
Kidd / JJB

If we do Stack + George + Wright = Marion + Ross. Then we have will have room for Nivins, Hollins, Singleton etc., off the bench, which would be nice! Let's get as deep as possible.

JHo has to be the backup three or he's only going to play about 15 minutes a night. I don't think there's any way Bass is back now that we have Humphries.

I prefer Humphries (another strong rebounder) over Banks, we didnt need a 4th pg. Sucks for Wright, but there wasnt much PT for him and with Ross we add defense. I also like the 3:2 trade opening a roster spot and solving the logjam at 2/3.

Kidd/Barea/Boobie
Josh/Terry/Ross
Marion/Carroll/Williams
Dirk/Humphries
Gortat/Damp

2 free spots. Bring back Singleton and Hollins. Maybe waive Williams and pick uo a nice LLE guy (Barnes/Diogu etc).

Dont know about Bass. Looks like he just have 3,5mio offers on the table...we have to see what Cuban wanna spend...

I would think having Marion would negate the need for a really decent back up at PF. In close games, he can slide over to the 4 when Dirk needs a rest, and Josh can cover the 3. I'd look at an 8 man rotation in big games, with guys like Ross, Singleton, and Humphries picking up a few minutes in blow outs.

PG - Kidd 32 min, JJB 16 min
SG - Josh 20 min, JET 28 min
SF - Marion 30min, Josh 18min
PF - Dirk 40min, Marion 8min
C - Gortat 28min, Damp 20min

YEah, I could see how a lot of other players would have the interest in coming back home to play. I'm just not sold on that lineup defensively or hurting Gortats feelings . I hope Gortat can sure up the starting spot and be here for a while holding it down.

Still, you aren't rejoicing enough

What an awesome trade.

We essentially only give up Wright (who IMO was COMPLETELY overrated and one of the least clutch players in the league-- not just that intentional foul either) and we replace Wright with a similar player with more advanced offensive skills with the vet minimum.

Acquire Marion who is a borderline allstar

We get rid of Stack and George

And Humphries, if healthy is an intriguing player. The year before last he averaged
20.6points, 13.4reb, 1.5blocks per 48. At the very least he's a hardworker that can D it up in practice.

I don't get it, what's Memphis giving up?
Memphis:
Incoming: Stack, Cash

Outgoing: ???????

Dallas:
Outgoing: Stack, Cash, George, Wright

Incoming: Marion, Humphries

Toronto:
Outgoing: Marion, Humphries

Incoming: George, Wright

So what's with the grizzlies? Did I overlook something obvious?

Memphis is giving up nothing. They're under the cap, thus they don't have to send out matching salary.

The best part of this deal to me is getting rid of uber-spares in Wright and George.

I'm really fired up about this deal. Really fired up.

Yay! Something happened!

And we got rid of Stack/George. May the door hit them in their spare arses on the way out.

Couple this with the Rangers re-taking first place, and this is probably my happiest sports night since the Mavs booted the Spurs in the 1st round.

Ok, but why did we get rid of stack? Those seem like separate deals, not a 3-team deal.

Is it a move to trim down the roster? I still don't get it, maybe I'm just being thick tonight.

Just posted on Ric Buchers twitter: Here's the deal: Marion/Humphries/Buckner to Dal. DGeorge/AWright to Tor. Stackhouse/Douby + cash to Mem. And Tor signs Turkoglu.
5 minutes ago from web

Looks like we are also getting Buckner back, always did like his game!
