Blazers to trade Nic Batum to Hornets for Gerald Henderson, Noah Vonleh
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/13...on-noah-vonleh
*edit*
Rick Bonnell: I am told the @Charlotte Hornets will also end up with Jeremy Lamb in a separate deal involving Matt Barnes’ contract. Barnes isn’t going to OKC.

Apparently Hornets have no idea when they are in a position of leverage. Idk how in the world you throw Vonleh into a deal that helps the Blazers clear cap room which they need. Batum is a nice player but his stock is down if anything after last year. I'm so lost.
--Edit--
I guess actually even if it's reported LMA knew of this trade it is a bit odd. Giving up Batum seems like a step back in the present. Even if the money helps keep LMA and Matthews together it's still at the cost of a wing and the players you get back are a rotational player and a project player for the future.

This was my thought too. Batum for Henderson is essentially a wash if you factor in salary- 5m saved. Why throw in Vonleh? Why not just keep Hendrson and Bonleh and use the extra 5 on another quality rotation player?? Wtf Hornets

With Luke Ridnour, at least for now, being with OKC that means that the total haul for trading James Harden is:
Out: Harden
In: Steven Adams, Luke Ridnour, Mitch Mcgary, Alex Abrines, rights to Szyzmon Szcewzyk(No my keyboard isn't broken, that's his name) and a future 2nd.

Woj- Rockets signing Undrafted Woods
https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/stat...68393333690369
Prior to draft he thanked God via twitter for the guidance to get him there. Following the draft and not being picked he went back to twitter and dropped a Mother F***er bomb. Can't imagine for the life of me how he slipped.

I'm not 100% convinced that Not Bill Walton isn't the real Bill Walton...

It was a total PR nightmare when Kobe said he wouldn't take a discount...and instead wanted 24 million a year to sit injured on the bench. Not that they needed the space, but there isn't a living organism outside of LA that doesn't think he is a douche nugget for one reason or another.

Rumors that Khloe Khardashian is dating James Harden. This offseason just gets better and better if true...

The Lakers Really Boned Themselves Out Of LaMarcus Aldridge
At the start of the day, the Los Angeles Lakers were feeling pretty good about their chances at signing free-agent forward LaMarcus Aldridge. They were even the first team on his meeting schedule! Of course, that meeting didn’t go as well as they thought it did, and now we’re starting to hear why.
Mike Bresnahan
✔
@Mike_Bresnahan
LaMarcus Aldridge will not be joining the Lakers, The Times has learned. They were a 50-50 choice but he disliked bball part of presentation

@Mike_Bresnahan
Aldridge was floored in a good way by Houston's analytics, on-court projections in their presentation. Not so with the Lakers.

@Mike_Bresnahan
More LMA: He and Kobe didn't quite gel. It's a little vague, but Aldridge apparently didn't quite get answers from Kobe he was seeking.

As @Mike_Bresnahan says, Aldridge felt too much of Lakers presentation focused on outside opportunities; wanted clearer, better b-ball focus

Another fun update from the Lakers pitch to LaMarcus. Hear there was a killer Power Point

@Mike_Bresnahan
Execs from AEG and TWC SportsNet will also be at the LaMarcus pitch, as will Laker VPs Tim Harris (biz) and John Black (publicity).
So this is how I know imagine that meeting going:
LaMarcus Aldridge: “So how do you guys see me fitting into the offense?”
Jim Buss: “LaMarcus, baby, we’ll make you a star here! You can be in movies! Don’t you want to be in movies? How about an episode of Ballers?”
Byron Scott: “Don’t you think basketball was more fun when every game was 82-79? Three-pointers are stupid!!!!!! What’s an iPad??”
Kobe Bryant: “Come play with me and I’ll teach you how to be a winner, and not so much of the spineless piece-of-shit coward that I can tell you are just by looking at your stupid fuckboy face.”
[LaMarcus Aldridge leaves]
Good job, Lakers.

I just don't think the lakers had anything to sell. You have to sell rosters, roles, and a believable future.

Isn't she legally still married to Lamar? I sure hope Harden doesn't start showing up on reality TV other than NBA games.

David West declines Packers $12 million to join Spurs for vet minimum. They may not have a "true center" but they are seriously stacked at the PF position now with Duncan, Aldridge and now West.

@tomhaberstroh: The East went 47-113 (.293) vs. the Southwest division last season, the equivalent of a 24-win team.

Wow. Talk about the rich getting richer. i thought they looked like fools giving up Splitter for essentially nothing and they've replaced him with David West and Lamarcus Aldridge. Wow.

The conspiracy theory in me tells me the Spurs did a 'wink-wink" deal and promised
D.West more money next season...
How does one leave $11mil on the table...he has earned $88mil over his career

I really don't think this is the case. He will be 35 in August and sounds legit when he says he wants a ring. He's seemed to be a loyal type of guy spending his entire career in NO and then Indiana.
