Not trying to even be dramatic or doom and gloom but i'm sure plenty are laughing at us. We haven't signed ANYONE and have lost 3 of our top 5 best players on the team.
The Kings at the end of the day can say they have Rudy and Cousins and some youth.

Well I'm glad the national media covered Wade and his dissatisfaction of how massively underpaid he was. It was totally worth the month long soap opera that ends in him opting out of 1yr 16m and getting 1yr 20m.

Yep, the Mavs have pretty much bent over and took it in the rear end since the Championship.

When you say it like that, it kinda makes Wade sound like a giant douche... He's never been accused of that before.

lost tyson twice...
cap space estimate: 67.1 mil
current salaries: 33.2 mil
to spend: 33mil ish
could of had with some quick thinking:
affalo: 2 years 18 mil or 9/yr
ed davis: 3 years 20 mil or 6.67/yr
aminu: 4 years 30 mil or 7.5/yr
remaining:
drive up kanter's price or move on, and still have 10 mil for biyambo and maybe lin
if they did all of this it would have been a roster of:
pg: lin/felton/kopponen
sg: affalo/harris
sf: parsons/aminu
pf: dirk/powell
c: davis / biyambo/ james
nice mix of youth and vets
instead its right now:
pg: felton/kopponen
sg: harris
sf: parsons
pf: dirk/powell
c: james
and 33 million of DRY UNUSED powder with a doubtful monta snt option. with all that cap, they may as well be a salary dump team in exchange for future assets. dirk has gotta be super pissed at a paycut for this repeated teardown and wishful pitches that net nothing so far. perhaps deandre changes this, but he's got a nice situation in LA too with same money.
that's pretty bad draw for free agents...

From the Aldridge Thread someone check if this works.
Apparently the Suns need space to get Aldridge+Chandler under the Cap. They may unload Markieff Morris+Tucker.
Would this work
X(Lin, Beverly, Mo Williams) / Felton / Koponen
Harris/Anderson/Jefferson
Parsons/Tucker/Anderson
Dirk/Morris/Villanueva
Jordan/B.James(or another cheap guy)
??

Jeff Zillgitt: Wizards will use trade exception from Andre Miller to Kings deal to acquire Jared Dudley from Bucks. Trade can’t be finalized until July 9.

And that's why Boston wanted mavs first pick next yr. Model is unsustainable. With each passing year mavs probably get worse. Unless they want a complete 76ers teardown after dirk is retired

This team will never have a complete teardown or tank as long as Mark Cuban is the owner. Not in his DNA to do that.

@WojYahooNBA: Free agent center Robin Lopez discussing deal with Knicks that would earn him in range of $12M-$13M per season, league sources tell Yahoo.
@WojYahooNBA: Another serious consideration for Robin Lopez: The Lakers.

Wes Matthews just got 3/45 offer from Kings. If it's about money, we can't do better without dumping Felton or Harris.

How much would he lose on state taxes though? Would $13 mill with no tax be even money? $14?

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say that the Sacramento Kings have offered Wes Matthews a three-year deal in the $45 million range
@ESPNSteinLine: But ESPN sources say Dallas is Wes Matthews' preferred destination -- over both Kings and Raptors -- and that Mavs are favorites to land him

14.3% net
3/45 in CA would net 38.6
3/36 in TX would net 36.0
So not much, but something.
Edit: with max yearly raises, our offer Would be higher than 36, but would start at 12 A year

Players aren't going to want to be in a situation where the coach might be fired right away or Cousins traded tomorrow. Anything can happen, but that is a paltry amount if you want to avoid that situation.

@daldridgetnt: Situation same as last night's reporting re: Wiz/David West. They'd love to use MLE 4 him, but he's scanning the post LaMarcus/Jordan field.
@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say David West is most likely to wind up with one of two teams after leaving Indiana: San Antonio or Washington

@ZachLowe_NBA: At this rate, Wes Matthews may damn well get the same contract he'd have gotten before tearing his Achilles.

I hope the Mavericks made Wes aware of the tax breaks offered in Texas, that will hopefully narrow the gap if his preference is indeed for Dallas. But really, F the Kings.

@ESPNSteinLine: ESPN sources say Robin Lopez has chosen Knicks over Lakers and will join NYK as long as DeAndre Jordan, as expected, chooses Clips or Mavs

So what if DAJ doesn't choose Clips or Mavs, is he willing to come to Dallas? ...hmm

They aren't giving up Bledsoe. They can move other pieces to make it work.

@daldridgetnt: Wes Matthews has agreed in principle with the Mavericks on a four-year deal, per source. Turned down huge offer from Sacramento.
