Wow...
Tankathon gives us the choice of Bamba or Bagley. UH yes please!
I still stick by Bamba having as high of a ceiling as anyone in the draft. He's also still one of the most raw, and doesn't look to have a super high BBIQ, but man, if he figured it out...

You know, I can nitpick almost anyone in the top-10, but I think the Mavs will be okay if they come out of this draft with either DeAndre Ayton, Luka Doncic, Michael Porter, Jaren Jackson, Marvin Bagley, Mikal Bridges, or Mo Bamba... I just don't want to get stuck taking Wendell Carter or Trae Young because they're the best player left on the board.

Bridges just hit 16 points coming out of the half in 4:30 minutes. Capped off with a 27ft 3 before a timeout.

Agreed and I think we will end up with one of those guys unless we somehow win out and screw up everything. I still think someone takes Trae Young before we pick. I don't think Wendell Carter would be a terrible pick, but he's definitely last on those list of players (after Young. I don't want him at all).

If I’m being honest with myself I’m hoping we get Bagley. The guy is just a relentless deer on offense. He has the best second jump I’ve ever seen, and he is singlehandedly wearing teams down.
DSJ / JJB
Wes / Seth
Barnes / McDermott
Bagley / Dirk
Noel / Powell
I think that team competes for a 5-8 seed next year.

And i think the FO is maybe not really high on Bagley because of defense/tweener issues/fit with Barnes...
Ayton
Doncic
JJJ
Porter
Bamba
Bagley
Mikael
Carter
Trae
I think thats the top-9. Top-2 is set because Doncic is such a Rick player and Porter has some red flags. I think 3-5 are also pretty much set because of the issues with Bagley.
6-9 is a wild card. I can also see the FO picking Trae over a better fit because they think he has the highest chances to be the best remaining player left and they try to cash him in in thr draft 2019 or later...

Very fair point. I do think Bagley has demonstrated he has a prowess for scoring the ball in the paint that Barnes hasn’t shown, but having both on the same squad may be difficult if both are best suited to play the 4.

At this point, I would be absolutely stunned if Bagley makes it out of the top 3.

Yep. His stock went down for maybe a week and has now recovered completely if not more so.
I have to say though that Wendell Carter has been very solid and definitely seems like an ultimate glue guy. Sucks he doesn't have much star quality, but man, as far as depend upon guys...he is at the top of the draft in that regard.

Wait Memphis won?!?!
I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up seeing as they are still going to out tank us. But still didn't see that happening.

Knicks won as well which is more important. Doubt we can catch up to Memphis.

He has played terrible for the last month. And yes, his March Tourney games were very bad as well. On the positive, if you are a JJJ fan, he might drop to 5-8 range now.

He is by far the biggest risk with the biggest upside in the lottery.
But shitting the bed now means dropping to us, so I'm fine with it.
The fact that his minutes are always so limited is definitely cause of concern, and it's likely due to his high foul rate.

I would really prefer to stay away from JJJ and MPJ. I easily take Mikal over either. The problem is if you’re avoiding those two it’s basically a five man draft — Bridges, Bagley, Ayton, Bamba, and Doncic.

With Porter its all about the individual workouts and the medical records. If he is crushing the workouts and the docs are giving green light, then he is for sure Top-5.
Right now with Bagley kicking ass i say:
Ayton
Doncic
Bagley
Porter (healthy and with great workouts)
Bamba + JJJ (high risk, high reward raw talent)
Mikael
Carter ( the solid save but not soooo sexy picks)

Check out Zhaire Smith (pronounced Za-ear), freshman 2/3 from Tech who's quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the draft.
He's a fantastic defender/ rebounder/ finisher. He's long, rangy, and super athletic.
For the season he's averaging about 11 points, 5 boards, 1 steal, 1 block, 1 turnover on 56.5/ 44.4/ 72 splits. Against Florida he put up 18/9/7 to lead Tech into the Sweet 16. He needs to continue to develop on the offensive end (he needs to tighten his handle and work on getting his shot off quicker), but I can see him becoming a star in the future.
Depending on how he plays the rest of the tourney I see him going as high as top-10, but definitely in the lottery.

My tankathons today...
5, 7, 7, 2, 3
So we still have a good chance at a top 5 based on silly lottery predictions...
Amazing that they still have JJJ at the three spot.

Watched Michigan State yesterday. Miles Bridges looks like a puffy, paunchy middle-class man's Justin Anderson. Yuck.
Jaren Jackson Jr. may as well not have been on the court. Invisible. Looked slower than I remembered him.

JJJ is such a wild card, but one of his biggest weaknesses is his rebounding. And the Mavs so desperately need rebounding that it just can't keep being avoided. If Cuban wants to not tank anymore, then rebounding and defense have to be addressed.
Thats why Ayton, Bagley, and Bamba are my top 3. Bridges is my 3b, but we just can't keep putting off the rebounding issue. Nothing will change as long as far as winning and losing is concerned if that isn't addressed.

100% has to be someone who can rebound. Ayton is my 1, but I know we have no shot at him. So hopefully one of Bagley/Bamba is still available when we pick. If not, I really like Mikal as a consolation. But he doesnt address rebounding :/ I do like that he can shoot the 3 as well as score inside

That's actually a guy I've been watching, did kinda mention him earlier in this thread:

I could honestly see him being higher on this list, his growth has been fairly steady.

I'm probably gonna update that list after the tourney is over, definitely need to re-think some of those calls... Could see Zhaire in the top-10.

Gasol out and Evans a late scratch.
Bulls not even let travel LaVine, Dunn and Markkanen to the game.
But Cuban got fined...NBA is a fucking joke

Nets win
Knicks win
We are no longer tied with BKN. Half game ahead at the 5 spot.
Deangelo Russell is bad. At least tonight...

FYI: ties are decided by a coin flip for lottery purposes, so the current rankings are a bit misleading.
