Yup, they are usually early in the week. I haven't heard anything new on that front...which is probably a good thing.

He visits the doc (Dr. T.O. Souryal I think) every Monday to check out the progression of his foot.

That's Roddy...if you stick a recorder or mic in front of him, he goes like that. He's totally relaxed and different in just about any other format.

Well he stayed at home in order to ramp up his work so I don't know if you are going to hear many updates since he's away from the team right now.

Not couting the game today we have just 7 games until the trade deadline. If they really wanna get a slightly look of the team with Roddy he should come back for the Cleveland homegame...

From what I read, he hasn't even practiced with the team yet. I'm not expecting a return tonight.

Carlisle mentioned that Roddy has been improving daily and that "live stuff" is possibly coming this week.
I would imagine that means actual practice with the team. Carlisle did not comment on whether or not Roddy would travel with the team on their next road trip.

Roddy not coming back yet does make me think that we're keeping the kid before the trade deadline though.

I don't see a player out there that we would trade Roddy for save Carmello and Nash+Hill

Rent-A-Melo for Roddy? No way ...
I respect Cubans ego but even he can't expect Melo to sign an extension here.
And Cuban talked about a starplayer in his prime for Roddy ... doesn't match Nash either.

Mortgaging a franchise (if that's what you want to call trading one young guy who is unproven, but obviously talented) for their best chance at a championship ever seems worth it to me.
Dirks getting older. Possible lockout next year. Miami will be better next year. Go for it now.

I hate the idea of giving up Roddy.
Thats putting all your money on this season.
Just go get a Steven Jackson. If we get him we're probably the best team in the NBA.
Don't be stupid and give up Roddy unless you know you can hold on to Thuganthony somehow.

No big trade, IMO Dirk will want to go away next season to team where he will win a ring.

Right on. The cost of Melo might be ______ years of __________ level production from Roddy. The cost of finding out what's in those blanks might be 1-2 more years of superstar production from Dirk.

Every trade that is put up for Melo doesn't go through. I mean the latest, Minny doesn't want to part with Brewer. Maybe Denver gets desperate and grabs the first offer. It seems something always hits a snag. Now it's like pennies on the dollar for Melo.

Can Roddy be ready before All-Star break?
By Jeff Caplan
DALLAS -- It's too bad Roddy Beauboishas been out this long. "Little Frenchy," as Dirk Nowitzki dubbed him the other night in Boston, probably would have been headed to Los Angeles with Nowitzki for All-Star Weekend as a member of the sophomore squad in the Rookie Challenge.
Oh well. The Mavs are concentrating on when their 6-foot guard will finally suit up. Still no timetable, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle said after Monday morning's shootaround. However, Carlisle is finally offering up more detailed progress reports on the second-year guard from Guadeloupe, which can only indicate that he is on the cusp of practicing and ultimately playing.
Carlisle said Beaubois will begin "live stuff" this week, which sounds like code for practicing with the team for the first time and perhaps even scrimmaging. Once that happens, his return will be imminent.
But, does that mean before the All-Star game?
Not sure. The Mavs will play four of their remaining six games before the break by the end of Saturday. They'll have only two practice days, Tuesday and Friday, during that stretch. Asked if Beaubois would join the team on the three-game road trip that starts Wednesday at Sacramento, Carlisle danced around the question by saying he's focused on tonight's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Beaubois did not go on this past trip in order to ramp up his conditioning work. The Mavs will have three off days, and likely two full practice days, following the capper to the road trip Saturday at Houston. If Beaubois does not play on the road trip, perhaps the practice time will allow him to play in the final two games prior to the break, a back-to-back set at home against Sacramento (Feb. 16) and at Phoenix (Feb. 17).
If Beaubois doesn't return until after the All-Star break, he'll have 26 games to get acclimated to playing again and for Carlisle to figure out his rotation before the playoffs start. Although the Mavs are 35-15 without him, Beaubois remains a critical piece when the playoffs arrive. Outside of J.J. Barea, Beaubois remains the only other Mavs player capable of creating his own shot off the dribble.
Don't think that's absolutely critical for postseason success? Rewind to last season's one-and-done at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs.

I think Roddy will barely (if at all) affect JJB. Especially once Peja kicks him out of the starting lineup.

I prefer one season with Roddy instead of Melo + the last two years of Dirks contract with Roddy than just one postseason with Carmella being with his head half in NY....

Not so sure, Rick is committed imo to giving Jet minutes whether you guys like it or not. I think that would mean we may see some of the 3 guards! Kidd + Roddy + Terry. Its better than barea in there though, also think he will give Roddy a little time at the 1
