True. The addition of DFS and Dwight Powell 6 year extension will transform this roster for a strong play in push.

With the Mavs playing 2 national TV games this week on TNT I bet
we hear the old narrative of "Luka needs to play defense..."
He has really made a much better effort forward this year.
Luka Doncic keeps improving in one-on-one defense. After last night, opponents are scoring just 0.79ppp on him in isolation, and they?re only at 32.1FG%
He?s been ridiculous. Players are at just 0.57ppp at only 36.8FG%. Top 98% of the NBA.

Regardless, Im not concerned about anything regarding Luka except his attitude/complaining. I don't think people shoukd set the bar too high for him defensively until we get an actual team built around him. When its clear that his lack of defense is the step keeping us from contending, then ppl can have weight behind complaints.

Defense isn't the issue. Team effort on all fronts is. Players have said it themselves.

That's all coaching baby. The issue is the coach, full stop.

Great stats by Luka though, but he will always be Mozart in the stat department on both ends.

What we really need is to get other players involved more which I feel like they did well with against the Sixers.

Luka needs to learn to pace himself better and go off when the team really needs it like the 4th quarter. Pretty much his only "flaw."

Again, injuries prevent a team from learning how to do that. And coaching...

Luka is a machine. Hopefully MVP but he will probably be scoring leader. It would be impressive if all he did was score, but he does it all.

I had started to sour on Green this year. I was disappointed that he hadn't taken that next step up.

But he's played well lately and I'm glad they didn't trade him for PJ.

I think moving forward with this team he has to elevate himself into a top tier defender in order for this team to excell in the playoffs

I'm not really concerned with his offense because the mavs score plenty of points. His defense along with DJJ and Exum will be key down the stretch

I've certainly one of Green's biggest critics, but his play is just different now. It's not just making shots. He finally looks comfortable on the court.
