I have to say.. This is already my favorite Mavs roster since 2011. I like Barnes a lot more than Parsons.

Last year's PPG:

Deron: 14.1
Wes: 12.5
Barnes: 11.7
Dirk: 18.3
Bogut: 5.4

Am I the only one who is worried about this?

What were parsons/zaza at? Bogut (and Barnes for that matter) should have a lot more shot attempts this year.

Simba dunks for 10PPG per game because of Bogut setting awesome moving screens for him and Barea-Powell stepping up like it was with Barea+Wright

Mavs are exploring options to shed JaVale McGee's nonguaranteed $1.4 million salary. It would become guaranteed if he's on roster July 12.

@ESPNSteinLine: The Dallas Mavericks are increasingly likely to trade forward and former Slam Dunk champion Jeremy Evans, according to league sources

Not sure the Mavs can survive losing a guy who hasn't played since February 21st. Those three minutes are crucial.

What were they wanting from Evans when they brought him to Dallas? It's almost like they never gave him a chance.

And I wonder who the Mavericks could potentially sign. Unless Terry just wants to retire with Nowitzki in Dallas and Nowitzki wishes for this as well I don't necessarily want him to come back. And there are not that many attractive free agents out there that we can sign for veteran's minimum.

One player I'd like to see back in a Mav's uniform is Brandon Bass if he's willing to take even less than the $3 million he made last year. Other than that we probably need to look at the D-League or around the globe. I'd like to give Ricky Ledo another try.

They wanted to find another Al-Farouq Aminu but on a two year contract this time

So now it can make sense dropping Evans and Mcgee . Then replacing them for one year contracts for Lee and Terry. If both can agree on the contract. Might not be more than 3mil? We could have a good mix of both young and veteran players.

Lee & Golden State are trying to figure out a way for him to return... Don't hold your breath on him coming back to Dallas.

Underdog, what other moves do you think the Mavericks will make? Jeremy Evans will be 29 this season. I don't blame them for wanting to move him as if he were going to grow as a player he'd have already done so by now.

Also it appears McGee can't be coached. So why waste your time on him?

That'll give the Mavericks 3 open roster spots. I'll be surprised if JET doesn't return. There's been talk for some years, and he can fill a need at SG at a low cost.

The other 2 spots? Not against Charlie V returning if nothing else materializes.

They just got David West. Which I think that was gonna be Lee's spot.

McGee and Evans are probably gone which puts us at 12/15.

Only allowed 12 active players, but I can see us trying to get someone young-- wether a promising kid or a summer league standout. I don't see us getting a veteran rental like Lee.

No clue... I just know they aren't getting anyone who Golden State has interest in.

I also have zero interest in seeing JET return to the Mavs since he'll steal minutes from Curry and likely push Wes to steal minutes from Simba... You can't give Carlisle that option if you care one iota about Life After Dirk.

That's why I would like to see the Mavs get rid of either Harris or Barea. If Carlisle has a veteran he will play a veteran

Pretty sure we used the room exception on Seth Curry.

Can anyone update us on what the Mavs' current roster (with salaries) is? Just hoping I can take an easy bird's eye view on it.

Nah, Terry would rarely play with having JJ. He would have him like Charlie was this past season. Use him for only situation. Which is showing why we're about to clear Mcgee and Evans. We need a vet. And only one I can think who can help Curry is Terry. Cause Terry also can play SG.

Why bring back a veteran if you're not going to play him? Why would Terry want to come back just to ride the pine? Might as well retire and take a coaching job with the Mavs instead of wasting a roster spot.

Because in the playoffs we could use a guy like Terry.. Regular season is all about Seth, Anderson, and Powell playing off the bench, yes.

This. Exactly this. If you're going to sign anyone to sit on the pine and waive a towel I'd rather it be a young guy we can groom to hopefully contribute next year and beyond. Also, I'd like to move on from Charlie V. Dude was terrible last year. I think we can find someone better to take his roster spot.

What position/roles do you think this roster needs for the end of the bench?

Same people I always want at the end of the bench: best available young talent regardless of position.

I have no idea who fits the bill, don't even really know who's left on the market at this point.

I'm not sure there's that much of a need for JET after the a Curry signing, but I think he could be a great locker room presence. I think he has enough left in the tank to help win some games from time to time, but not so much that he would stunt the development of a good player. Look, if a kid can't beat out uncle JET, the kid probably doesn't deserve to play yet anyway.

If I remember correcty, JET is on record that he would like to fulfill a mentorship role on some team. The guy bleeds Maverick blue and he has championship pedigree. I think he could prove valuable from a cultural standpoint. Just imagine him pumping up the crowd after a big run. Finally, it will probably make the grind of the season that much more enjoyable for Dirk.

Pretty sure "mentor" is in a coach's job description... He can be a locker room presence without taking up a roster spot.

Not sure what color he bleeds though...

Come on now, UD, rehashing the tat just isn't right. We can disagree without throwing mud on a Maverick great can't we? Never forget game 6.

I love Mavericks JET, hate Celtics/Rockets JET...

Jason Terry on playing the Mavs: 'Kick 'em while they're down'

Why would we want JET?

But if JET said anything else, it wouldn't be JET. We can't expect him to change who he is just because he's playing for another team.

I'm nostalgic, man. I can't help it. I miss the good old days. I miss me some JT.

Doesnt look to be official yet but they're in talks. But they're Golden State, I doubt anyone is going to back out from going there.

I think his scoring would have been nice to have, any other good MLE candidates? (do we even have an MLE?)
