OK, i´m not a Baseball-specialist, i just like watching some games. But the games went way different from what i had expected. I thought about close games and a small advantage for Texas. And i did not expect so many mistakes. In the third game, the Rangers need less balls.

Well I love the Rangers more than the Mavs. Barely, but I do.
And it's still not like the '06 Finals.

I can see how it compares to the Mavs Finals experience. We were both underdogs that fought our way to a well deserved championship match, only to get ousted (I know this one's not over, this is hypothetical) by an inferior team in embarrassing fashion. Or what was thought to be the inferior team, nonetheless. I told myself that after the first round, everything was just icing on the cake and that I wouldn't be upset if we lost, but dang-it, now we're too close, we have to take this because who knows if we'll be this close again any time soon (see the Mavs for a prime example).

The '06 Finals broke my heart. I am still not fully over it. IF the Rangers fail to win the World Series I will be over it the same week it happens. Sure, I will be upset/frustrated and sure I want them to win, but this is SO much different.
The most frustrating thing here is that they are most definitely the inferior team and we absolutely should have come home with a split but it is what it is. This team will either fold or they will pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and punch SF right in the mouth. Will they win it all? I think if they win the first 2 games and get back to a Cliff Lee/Tim Lincecum game, they most definitely will. Lee won't be beat like that twice in a row. If we split the first two in Arlington, it's over. We won't win 2 straight in SF. So yeah, we have to sweep at home to have a shot is what I am saying. Even then, winning that 1 game in SF will be quite hard. Doable? Absolutely, especially considering Game 7 will be the same pitching duel for tomorrow, which is very much in our favor, but still.
Either way, nothing will change the following stance from me:
GO RANGERS!
IT'S TIME!

There is not another moment in any sport that comes close to that 2006 catastrophe...period
Unless it happens again with the same teams...
As far as the Rangers goes...At least we beat NY and Tampa when most folks didn't give us a chance in hell...we won the AL pennant beating the Yanks strikin out Arod...we got the comeback player of the year and the MLB MVP...we could also have a Cy Young winner but we dont...so my Rangers season is gravy train although I would love for them to win the chip!

The Giants just dismissed the the Phillies--the team with the best record and probably the best 3 man rotation in baseball. They are not that inferior. San Fran is/has been winning because their pitching has been able to limit the oppositions ability to get 2-out hits. The Rangers bullpen has been nothing short of atrocious.

If you read my next sentence, you would see that I said what was thought to be the inferior team. We were clear favorites going into the series.

When Vlad hit that, I was almost certain it was a homer.
Oh well, at least Vlad looks locked in today. A locked in Vlad is a dangerous thing.

I've never seen a phantom double play where BOTH runners should have been safe.

He jumped off second before he caught the ball, I know that much. First base was bang bang at best.

it was close for both...I thought he was out at 2nd and safe at 1st. Safe IF "tie goes to the runner" anyway....

Colby is pretty damn nails.
*edit* I am done talking. He gave up the homer right as I hit submit.

A run for an inning is more than a fair exchange. Just don't give up the two-spot.

Good moral victory tonight. Cj was good but Colby was better...just makes you wish Cliff would have gotten it done.
Tomorrow big, sweaty, nervous-faced Tommy Hunter will make the whole metroplex convulse as he struggles through his 4 1/3rd innings and then hands it to the bull pen. Yikes.
It's on the bats tomorrow.

Moral victory???? Weird way to put it.
I'd say whoever wins tonight wins the series. And I don't feel great about tonight. We'll need six runs at least to win tonight I think. So let's go bats.

Well I just bought tickets to Game 5. And because I waited so long, prices went WAY down. So even after buying these, I still made about $900 after selling the tickets I had to Game 3. I hope Cliff Lee is pitching for a series lead tomorrow.

Yeah, I don't think you can have a "moral victory" when you actually win.

At the park, grilling burgers, knocking in back a couple of heinekens (in honor of Germandunk's efforts to follow the great game)...all in all not a bad way to prepare for the Rangers 2nd ever World Series win!!!

That's awesome, man..
Tommy gets out of the first nicely despite the ump squeezing him a bit.

Sucks that now Tommy's gonna have to throw another ten pitches because the first base ump can't make a basic call.

If the Rangers end up losing this game because of that call, I don't even know what to say.
*edit* Josh saves the day.
