That was draining. I am just so tired...of all of it. It's really unbelievable if you think about it... like it all played out in the way that would break our hearts in the worst possible way.

Everybody blaming terry, where's larry bird?Dirk is 28,if he stops playing at the finals at the tender age of 28,he'll never be the legend we all thought he could be...

Wonder if we can get back the 10 points or so the Heat we gifted throughout the game .... that last foul on dirk against Wade was a friggen joke .... 5 playing against 8

Damn it - this stings because Phx is gonna be better next year and this may have been Dirk's only chance at a title. And his supporting cast gives him THAT performance?

I don't blame Terry but try getting your feet set to shoot a jumper and someone grabbing your jersey.....

the more i think about the call on dirk at the end - when wade karate chopped him - the more angry i get. what a pussy call. stern got what he wanted: shaq is still the face of the nba and the "next jordan" thing is in full effect.

i hope now that the season is over the players go off on the refs - literally step up to the microphone and say FUCK YOU! and now it is up to cuban to improve this team in the offseason, because the west is going to be even better next year.

maybe now that basketball is over i can actually focus on studying for the bar exam. kill me.

Miami deserves alot of credit, really, they showed amazing heart an are much more mature and ready for this level, but the league changed the momentums and after being to certain there was foul play in this series,i think i'm done...
like what others said,i'll stop by every once in a while,i have friends here and good conversation people, but im exausted and this isn't what it used to be.
I always thought i would retire from pro posting with a ring.. well,this been fun.take care everybody,and remember,its just sports,nothing more,nothing less.
And most importent, have a good day!

The Wadeness protection program proved too much for the Mavs to fight through. The sad part is the Heat played well. If the officiating didn't treat Wade with kid gloves, Miami would have made a nice showing of itslef in this series. They just wouldn't have won. Sad indeed.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, that is quite a disappointing ending to the NBA Finals. I really would've liked to have seen Dirk take that final shot. I didn't get to watch this game, so I don't have as good of a perspective on how it was played as most of you, but it sounded like an overall disappointing performance from the Mavs from the middle of the second quarter to the end of the game. For the Mavs' main offensive threats, not one of them shot 50% or better from the field tonight, and it's tough to win when that happens. There are other reasons for the loss (including number of free throws attempted and some calls that did not go the Mavs' way), but when they needed baskets, the Mavs had a very difficult time getting them.

As I've posted on this board before, I don't live and die by the Mavs in the same manner most of you do, but this loss is hard to swallow nonetheless, especially when the Mavs were so close to realizing the goal that they set for themselves at the beginning of the season. It's going to be a damn long offseason, that much is for certain.

I love the mavs, I love the effort they gave...but it's humiliating to say we got beat, flat out, by a better team.....losing a 2-0 series lead...unbelievable.

The game is a microcosm of the series....get a big lead, completely lose it...struggle to fight back..and key players don't step up. so sad.

Stat of the game:

The Mavs hit 2 of their first 16 shots in the third quarter. Ball game.

And as Ben & Skin are pointing out, if I were to blame something else, it would be the stretch of play when Shaq and Zo were on the bench.

That was absolutely horrible.

I'll admit, it hurts. It really doesc considering this is the only team that I've ever really grown to love and being so close yet so very far away. If only they could have kept the lead in Game 3, they would have won the NBA championship. The refs were a problem in this series, there's no denying that. But you can't really blame it on them. We lost our chance. Stuart Scott (idiot) just asked Avery what he told his team in the locker room and he said that he loved them through thick and thin. It was actually pretty sweet. Heartbreaker definitely. There's always next year and we're still young. The Mavs had a great season.

Congrats Miami..

I just got in, my machine screwed up, it didn't tape the game.

I was so sure they would win, they were up by 10 when I last saw the score.

I feel bad for the team, particularly Dirk.

For it to be a free throw shooting contest both teams would have to be going to the foul line.

I feel really bad for Dirk and the rest of the guys who worked so hard during the season and the playoffs and did not deserve to be victims of David Sterns WWBA. The Mavs easily could have won this series if they would have done the exact opposite of what the officiating wanted. They should have roughed and I mean roughed up Wade instead of letting them get away with so many ticky tac fouls. I hope if they are ever in this situation again they can break a nose, hand, jaw or something. Personally, I won't be watching as I didn't watch this game. I saw one fricking play and it was the foul call on Daniels. One play was enough to tell me what was going to happen. I had already given up watching any of the other teams in the NBA. Now I am giving up watching the Mavs. It would be intellectually dishonest of me to watch something that has a predetermined outcome. The Heat didn't win this series. The Mavs let the officiating decide the series. I don't know who I am more let down by, the Mavs, the NBA or the coaching staff. This is by god the lowest point in Mavs history. You can't let yourselves be cheated. Ever!!! And the Mavs did.

The Heat were definitely protected in this series and I thought that the refs were totally embarrassing in this series, but hey what can you do about it now? Heat are champions, Mavs are the runner ups.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Gotta tip the hat to Miami. Totally imposed their will on Dallas throughout the series. They did not let Dallas play a Mavericks-style game from beginning to end throughout the whole series. Even in the first two wins, Dallas did not look good, and their best player did not look good.

At some point you just have to concede that this isn't merely Dallas failing to play well, it's Miami imposing their style of play, making the Mavericks do things that aren't their strength.

Looked at the playoffs and saw Michael Finley, Steve Nash and Antoine Walker. Lol.....I did NOT expect that it would be Walker's team that would beat them.

The series kinda highlighted a huge problem with the league. But seriously.....that awful calls weren't the reason Dallas lost the game. Dallas just did not play well, did not play smart, did not take advantage of the opportunities that they had. Do not want to be in a shoot-out with a player like Wade in a do-or-die situation. Mavericks were in position to control the series many, many times, and simply couldn't produce.

Otherwise, a great season. But it feels kinda hollow at the moment. Hate to see them get schooled like this, but.....gotta pay your dues. Downside is, who knows how long it will take them to get back to the Finals where they can capitalize on their experience. If ever.

Cuban has some decisions to make, assuming he keeps the team. I imagine he will. Stackhouse for one. I did not want him on the team, but damned he is one tough mo-fo. Almost turned the game around for the Mavericks in the 4th. Is he about to hit a major decline? Or can he rehab and rebound> Big decision. Not my favorite Mav, but I believe he is the toughest.

There's some dead wood to be cut, for sure. No need to name names. We know who they are.

Most troubling question: I look at some of this team's key players and wonder if the issue is experience/maturity or just plain lack of intelligence and self-control. Not sure I want to know the answer just now.

Congrats again to Miami. The better team won, and I can live with that.
Screw the NBA!!!!

Miami already had parade plans, too. Apparently Fri at 2 pm no matter if they won game 6 or 7. But at least their plans were kept reasonably under wraps.

just one more example of dallas being a can't do city.

Yeah, but the Cowboys will break our hearts again.

Great year Mavs, i was disappointed a second time and cant believe how the Mavs self destructed ! This trophy is supposed to stay in Texas.

We went thru our greiving process, you all do the same and we will meet again next year for some great basketball in the best division in the NBA.

Congrats Mavs... best playoffs i have ever seen.

(Cuban, you still suck)
