Elliot Smith- Mix
Still Stuck on Flyleaf too. That is a great CD if you like the female lead rock band. Speaking of which has anyone listened to Lacuna Coil's new cd?

Do you like stone sour more than slipknot? I do because i think that Taylor is a really good singer when he sings but most of the people that listen to both like slipknot better.

Some songs. I really like Vermillion pt.2 by Slipknot for example. I also like their harder stuff. But to me, it sounds like his efforts with Stone Sour seem more..... polished. Either way he's a better singer than he gets credit for. You couldn't tell from hearing Duality though.

I like both but honestly the reason i think stone sour is better is because there is less going on. SLipknot has 9 guys. Stone sour has 3 of them and maybe one other guy. I like slipknot too but alot of their songs just have too much noise in the background which does lead to a more polished sound as you said.

I picked it up yesterday and haven't stopped listening to it, except when I turn on the other cd I picked up: Mark Knopfler and EmmyLou Harris - All the Roadrunning
the new Pearl Jam lives up to the excellent reviews in my opinion. It's starts off kinda raw, but settles down. Life Wasted, World Wide Suicide, Marker in the Sand, Unemployable, Gone, Army Reserve....man, just killer!

i've listened through it twice so far. i love it. but of course, i've liked all their stuff (binaural probably the least), and thought riot act was a really good release.
if people would just stop expecting every album to be TEN, they'd get even more love. this is a more mature, rocking album.

Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I am, That's What I'm Not
Refreshingly different. And it's excellent to boot.

Days of the new and yall talking about pearl jam inspired me to pop Ten in the cd player. What an awesome cd. Days of the new was awesome back in the day. I know that several of them were also members of tantric but does anyone know whatever ended up happening to them?

Days of the New was badass, especially since they were all acoustic in their first album. Then they kinda went down hill after that. Tantric blew up and they suck now. But the lead guy from Days kept going. I have their latest album, but not that great.

I loved this CD when I first popped it in. I thought it was extremely new, kinda like you. The more I listen to it, the more it kinda drags for me. All the songs are above-average, but there is nothing great on it. There is certainly something to be said for consistency, but there needs to be something for me to latch on to on the album. The only song I can recall off the top of my head is "I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor," and that's only because it was the single.

I've only had it for a day, but so far it's been worth it. Having heard the single one billion times, I started out skipping it. The very first track is excellent though, The View From The Afternoon. I also saw their "Discover and Download" mini show on MTV2. Great stuff.

definitely worth the purchase, no doubt. i got it for $7, too. i don't regret buying it, but i'd been hearing about it like it was the best thing since sliced bread... and it's good. just not as epic as people are claiming.

Definitely it's not the second coming of Led Zeppelin, but it's good. I did hear a boatload of hype from the UK about this band, but I don't mind any of it. I didn't get the CD till I heard them on MTV2 doing the other songs.

picked up the new Snow Patrol last night. I'm digging it. I really, really like Final Straw. This one didn't get me on first listen like Final Straw did, but it's still really good.
