I'll add a little wiggle room to that considering he's a professional athlete with the best of everything at his disposal...

Dirk traded to Lakers in HUGE three-team deal!
Tarpley cleared of all charges and reinstated into NBA!
NBA announces that they will transfer the Larry OBrien trophy from the Heat to the Mavs after an extensive investigation into 2007 tampering.

I'm pumped for the coming season. But the media day will be a tiny
bit sad as we won't be able to see Dirk's goofiness and joking around with
the squad.

October 1st - First practice

October 11th - first home preseason game
Roughly 34 days left until we start getting news. 42 days until we play a game
Extra long this year, because they delayed the start of the season by one week.

The opposite is where they talk non-stop about the NFL to the point where I don't even care anymore. Seriously, every week I'm wondering when the season starts, nope, not yet, but we'll talk you to death about the same things over and over and over again. Granted, I'm a casual NFL fan at best, but it's still really annoying.
But hey, Cousins threatened to shoot the mother of his son, so that's something I guess.

Jackson post all-star break was shooting 37.5%. That's more than enough to be 3-D. He also worked on threes all summer so he should be fine.
DFS was a strong defensive player, but post all-star he only shot 23.7%. That isn't going to cut it.

Yea, but I'm hoping JJ brings more than just 3-D. He has way more potential.
I dislike the 3-D term almost as much as "Load Management".

Yet he closes the article with the lure of maybe Giannis joining the Mavs in a few years to make a big 3. So I liked the middle of the article but the beginning and the end make it look more like the Mavs might have stumbled their way to a better team, not really by plan, but then if Giannis joins forget all the substance of the rest of the article about usage and roles and the nba going away from a big 3...

Together those two are 3-D (Jackson-3, DFS-D) and neither are all that great imo. I'm not as high on those two as some people but I hope I'm wrong.
Jackson just doesn't seem to have the lateral quickness and it seems he plays a bit of straight-legged defense. He is pretty scrappy though so maybe that will get keep him on the floor. I still see some Matt Barnes in him.
I don't see DFS ever becoming a good enough shooter in our system to stay on the floor. Offense will always trump defense so Jackson will probably get more minutes.
IDK...just how I see it.

Jackson is never going to be a great player, but he is the perfect jack of all trades player that you need with Luka and Porz. Just has to focus on doing all of the little things that fill in team needs and be a good all around player.
DFS, on the other hand, is only good at one or two things. He is a very good defender and can sometimes hit a three.
Still, there is plenty of depth at the 3 position with Jackson, DFS, and THJ. Add in Broek, and you're fine. Nothing great here, but I'm not really sure it needs to be. Woulda been nice to get Green, but I really don't think he moves the needle much either.

Yeah I definitely think Jackson has a place in the league and will find a niche on this team maybe similar to Najara.

So far we know that Doncic and Porzingis have made a transformation. Have any other players on our team done the same? If so, dayum!

Salah Merji, who has not been signed by an NBA team yet, just put up 22 points, 15 rebounds, five blocks & five 3-pointers in a win for Tunisia.

Still do not understand why we didn't bring him back considering we are fairly thin in the frontcourt....especially considering KP's injury history and Boban's limitations.

They either think he reached his ceiling or they dont care for his constant complaints of calls technicals to production rate.

Because his limitations arent much difference from Bobans.
96 frontcourt minutes. I guess that KP/Powell/Kleber are going to eat almost 90 of them anyway. And then you got the rest for some Boban, DFS at the 4 etc

Sorry if this interview with Doncic has already been posted. I've seen parts of the interview elsewhere, but I never read it in its entirety. I think it's particularly interesting that Doncic said that Dirk is going to be around to help out when talking about playing with KP in the coming season. I'm happy to hear about that. Among many other things, I hope Dirk can pass on some of his habits that helped him to have such a extraordinarily healthy career.

Price works for the Mavs now? There was a postgame interview last season where Price asked Carlisle a question about a situation that happened in the previous game rather than that night’s game. He was asking it like it happened in that night’s game, like maybe he accidentally looked at his previous game’s notes before asking the question. Carlisle looked confused af, and had Price repeat the question. Carlisle eventually just said some generic stuff that didn’t really address the question.
