Frankie's been awfully good for the majority of the season. No reason to always fear him based on his last two games.

Goodness Guzman has been freaking awful since getting here.
And where the F is Cantu??? There's been at least two spots that were no brainer times for him to pinch hit.

Great comeback b/c Tommy Hunter suuuucked tonite...he left Failman in a bad position...im too drunk to check but most likely he allowed a run as usual.
Josh refused to lose this game...I hope Tommy forget this game happened
EDIT: I knew it, Failman gave up 2 runs....disgusting I tell you

I don't know, but I loved it so much I knocked over a whole S load of stuff sitting on my coffee table as I got to my feet while that ball was in the air.

No doubt.
It was a freaking majestic shot. Last row in left field. Very, very few balls make it that far.
Gosh I love this team. They just have so much fun, it's contagious.
And btw, he's getting outshone by Josh (who really is the best player in baseball right now), but Nelson Cruz is a legitimate MVP candidate himself if he hadn't missed so much time due to injury. Having Hamilton and Nellie in the same outfield is unfair to the rest of baseball.

He was pretty easily a better hitter than brett. Schmidt is close. If you consider arod a third basemen, then hes definitely in the conversation(i consider him a SS)
All of that aside. Holy crap this was a great game. Hamilton did about as much as one person can do and the cruz missile was just amazing. Good lord was that ump awful though.

Josh Hamilton needs to be called up to the big leagues. He's clearly not being challenged at this level.
There's no doubt in my mind that the MVP, the Cy Young, and the ROY should be given to Rangers. There's no doubt in my mind that JD will win Executive of the Year, as long as we make the playoffs. Win a series? Ron will get Manager of the Year, deserving or not.

Yup, Nellie has been amazing while healthy, and let's not forget that each time coming off the DL he struggled to get his timing back. Imagine his stats if he'd been totally injury free.

MVP and Cy Young are in the bag. I think well get ROY but its the closest of the bunch. And you know whats interesting. The person who probably has the most legit case to beat hamilton out for mvp is also a ranger.

Lee needs to pick up the pace in wins if he's going to win anything.
As for Francisco, I wouldn't say he's been one of the better relievers in the game. Hell, he's only top 4 or 5 right now on the Rangers team. He's clearly behind O'Day... most would put him behind Oliver even though he has struggled of late. Ogando definitely has pitched better than Francisco since coming up. So, would you put Francisco ahead of or behind Feliz? Most would definitely put Feliz ahed of Francisco.
I wouldn't say that Francisco has been one of the better relievers in the AL. He's been good, but there's a large number of relievers in the AL that have been better.

Yeah I don't think the CY is in the bag at all. Lee is having a ridiculous year but voters are going to look at those wins. It's stupid but they will.
It'd be pretty humorous if Lee obliterated the K/BB record while finishing the season anchoring a playoff team and didn't win the CY, but it's certainly possible.

Rangers starting pitcher Tommy Hunter might not be able to say the same. Entering the game at 9-1 with a 3.01 ERA, Hunter lasted just three innings, giving up four solo home runs, including three in a row to start off the fourth inning. David Ortiz, Adrian Beltre and J.D. Drew all homered and that was it for Hunter.
It was learned later that Hunter became ill during the game, throwing up between innings after feeling fine before the game.
"I have no idea. I tell you what, that was bad. I was fine, I don’t know what happened," Hunter said. "They gave me some medicine and hopefully it will calm down. It didn’t feel too good."

Man, that was a great win though. Cruz absolutely crushed that pitch. I have probably NEVER known a ball was gone off the bat sooner than when I saw that swing. Just NO doubt. So awesome - wish I could have heard the local guys call that game (damn MLB package gives me the away announcers more than the local guys).

Hamilton just hit a HR on a ball that was about neck level. WOW
Too bad we kinda fell apart in the top of the 9th, so we weren't down by only 1 run like we had been a lot of the game.

Josh Lewin went crazy as soon as Nellie hit the ball
...on another note Josh just hit another HR this time in the bottom of the 9th...the guy is truly a machine
...last note, Wash baffles me every other game....WTF is Vlad doin tryin to steal second while down 2 runs?

Helluva game by CJ and Borbon today. That bunt with 2 outs to go up 2-0 was a major play in the game. Without that we likely lose the game in a similar fashion to last night's game. 7, 8, and 9 all stepped up in fact. Big HR by Young as well.

Just finished watching the game. CJ was terrific, and in a day game in that kind of heat was pretty damn impressive. Too bad we couldn't get him the shutout. All of a sudden there was an offensive explosion in the last few innings. Was 1-0 for awhile and then BAM, it's 7-3.
Angels lost and the A's lost. But the A's losing wasn't really a good thing because it was against the Twins. Minny is playing too well. Magic number is 37.

Me too, man. I've been pretty good about staying connected all year, but I had grill duty at a friend's house.
I'm really happy for Michael Young. What a class act and leader that guy is. The home run he hit was just textbook Michael Young. I love watching him hit the ball to the gaps with power, keeping his head down and driving it where it's pitched.

I don't miss any of them but, yeah, locked in indeed. Keep in mind everyone that this is an early game due to playing in Tampa - 6pm start time!

Pitching matchups are not in our favor as we have our 1/4/5 pitching for us vs arguably their 1/2/3 or, worst case, their 1/2/4.
I just hope we can manage to take 2 of 3 but, considering this is in Tampa, I would actually settle for 1 of 3. If Lee loses tonight we actually would have to get a little lucky not to be swept.
Now, if Lee, CJ, and Lewis were lined up against their 3, I would be much more confident, but I am hopeful that Hunter can get it done along with Lee.
Holland just not sucking would be awesome. That is not to imply that he has sucked this year - just that I don't know what to expect with him. This looks to be a lost/wasted year for him unless he really comes on strong the rest of this year.
Eh well, this is a very possible playoff series so let's see what our boys can do minus Kinsler and, sadly, probably minus Cruz (not the best idea to run on turf given his injury, but maybe he plays through it). Vlad will likely get at least one game off as well. Like I said, let's hope for 2, but realistically, we MUST have this win tonight or we may very well walk out of Florida on a 3-game losing streak.

Cliff is just a pleasure to watch. 7 innings with only 74 pitches? Insane. 9 K's, only 1 BB.
What a treat.

Lee has been prone to giving up a "big inning" thus far...

The twitter hate on Arias is just...venomous.
But how many of those pitches did he throw in the 8th?
That's just ugly all the way around. One lousy inning.

Ugh... What a punch in the gut that 8th inning was. He was outstanding prior to that (Lee). Like I said, if we lose that game we have to actually get lucky to avoid being swept considering the pitching matchups. I said that before I knew Cruz was (once again) on the DL. Depending on what happens with Young, we could be fielding a friggin AAA lineup the rest of the way. It is very hard to win with Blanco, Arias, Molina, Cantu, Borbon, and this version of Vlad taking up 6 of the 9 spots. Hopefully Oakland and LA continue to lose.
