Been saying this for awhile now
Dude shouldn't be launching 3's at a high clip.
Then when you play him and THJ together at the same time it's a terrible site to see

He's never been good at it but yet the mavs are hell bent on forcing it.
I said it before this dude should be used more like Arron Gordon but instead he's turning into a inefficient THJ clone
All of his warps from Charlotte are starting to show up on offense here now

I mean yeah PJ looks like shit because the Mavs trying to force him to be something he?s not. He?s not a 3 point shooter, no matter how wide open the looks are.
His defense has been better than advertised.
Can?t help Kidd is dumber than a rock and puts him with THJ and DJJ on the floor together.

Hardy comes right in and scores a bucket. THJ shouldn't be playing anymore. Let's hope when Exum is back THJ is no longer getting the minutes that he has been.

Maddening. I really believe we have no shot as long as THJ plays a big role on this team.

This was my only worry with him, and it seems like a valid one to worry about. Kidd is not bright enough to change things on the fly.

I don't like that the team just gave up near the end though. That's not what contenders do. If we lost by 3-5 points, then I'm cool with a loss.
But I just don't really see how we can overcome Kidd's bad coaching and THJ's inconsistent at everything when it comes down to it.

Good teams lose.
But good teams also recover. If we shit the bed against Cleveland, then I have to think the Kidd honeymoon has come to an end.

Kidd will definitely deserve being fired if he keeps running THJ out there to be an inefficient, if only streaky, shooter. Hardy has been miles better than him and he can also put the ball on the ground and make something happen if it's not there. The shot selection from THJ tonight was horrendous, but hey, I guess he made some of them? Terrible turnovers, ball stalls with him.
Hell, at least PJ is trying to make something by driving and working for a better shot. I agree with most here that they have to figure out how to utilize him better. The learning curve is disappearing for both PJ and coach Kidd. Way too athletic and good of a player to lurk on the perimeter. At least he's actively rebounding and defending, something we can say raises the floor from GWilliams...

Soooo many terrible shots. Luka was bad. He has to move the fn ball more. Kai was doing it too. They cant just iso and take stupid shots you can get at the end of the clock.
Gafford and PJ both had their first bad game as Mavs.
THJ should have been traded for a bag of corn chips. Nico should have taken that broken toy away from Kidd. Hardy is better.

I thought the team hung on quite well considering just how poorly they played. They got within 4 points early in the 4th quarter.
I think this is the key stat:
MAVERICKS PACERS
ASSISTS 15 38
On a solid, regular night, only Luka has that many assists. They were trying out new things by keeping the ball less in Luka's hands. I thought that much was obvious.

It?s encouraging that there are things to improve on.
Discouraging that kidd is unlikely to do anything different.

A cpl of the things are more complicated or not as bad as he was pointing out but its a great bit he has going. Thats how most of us feel while watching some of our games.
I record every game, rewind and slo-mo plays looking at break downs etc, its fun and it drives me crazy. Im glad im not alone. Lol

The Pacers have big 2001-2002 Mavs vibes and are better built for the regular season than the post-season, but they're still dangerous. If Mavs come out slow and let them get comfy, they can drop 150 on us and there's not much we can do. Mavs are still struggling in the first quarter and early games. This will have both. If the Mavs win, it'll be leveraging defense and rebounding.
INJURIES
Exum - out (but practicing)
Smith and Nesmith - out for Pacers

Doozy, on the other hand, is a good word to put in.
