Well how about that...I can schedule things to record. I can see what's on the DVR already...all from that site.
Awesome.

If you log into this site
http://www36.verizon.com/fiostv/web/
Go to "sign in"...Using the login info you use for the regular FiOS site, and they will activate your DVR for you, and send you an email when it's ready. It took about 12 hours for me and they sent an email to me. Then I went back there, logged in, and now I can control my DVR from anywhere.

I think the only thing it's missing for full DVR functionality is the ability to edit recording options "like record 5 minutes before and after", etc.
But it's pretty sweet regardless.
I wonder if they'll ever open up the mobile DVR access to non-Verizon wireless customers.

NBA TV SD and HD should be coming available today if you have the Extreme HD Package.
NBA League Pass is also available on FIOS now, which might mean that we get a free preview this week.

Yes, I noticed NBA TV HD the other day. Now we've got them all..NFL Network, NBA TV NHL Network and MLB all in HD.

My FIOS DVR has the option to add extra time before and after. Probably been alot of software updates since Jthig posted that.

My biggest issue is with the poor responsiveness of the fast forward and rewind functions..also no slow motion. You don't get the near precision responsiveness that I've got with my DirecTV/TIVO unit. And frankly, to me, that greatly outweighs any slight advantage that FIOS may have somewhere else. Fios fastforward and rewing functions are really, really bad in comparison to the Directv unit.

I agree with you Murph about the fast forward function on the FiOS DVR. And I didn't even know slow motion was an option that people actually have. That would be awesome to have for sports replays.
If mine does it, I haven't figured it out yet. I'll have to look at that tonight.

You do slow motion on the FIOS DVR by pausing and then pressing FF/RW. Unless something has changed, that is. I've very rarely had a use for it.
I've never noticed the responsiveness of FF/RW annoying me. But I use the skip buttons almost exclusively.

The problem I have with FF is that it isn't fluid. I will use it to skip halftime junk and almost always when I hit play to stop the FF action it jumps ahead farther than I intended. I only have my brothers DVR to compare it to. His stinks in comparison, but FF is awesome on his. When you hit play, you start at the exact point.
And thanks for the info on slow motion.

See, my FIOS box used to have this problem. Then they put in the jump-back and that seems to work fine, at least for me.
But like I said, I use the skip buttons a lot more than the FF buttons.

See...now I feel like an idiot.
What skip buttons?
And the jump back feature is nice for fast forwarding through commercials. It's not so nice when trying to catch up quickly on a hockey or basketball game.

skip button going forward is the opposite of jump back. Its directly across from the "jump back" button.

You need a new remote man.
That crappy remote only has skip back (the replay button).
The new remotes also have skip forward. They both can be programmed within the DVR box as to how minutes seconds they skip forward/backwards.

Yes you are. It has light-up buttons and everything.
When they came out (like two years ago I think), they sent out coupons to customers so they could get one for free. You ought to call them up and see if you can finagle one somehow.

Why lie when a hammer makes truth?
(but don't blame me, Flaco, if they say no)
