Barkley just picked us to beat LA. This crazy guy.
He did nail the Hawks and maybe Memphis, though....

The last time the mavs played the defending champions, they made it to the NBA finals.
GO MAVS.

(And I do agree that Carlisle waited way too long to put back in his starters. And I do think it almost cost them the game. Without Kidd's amazing rainbow shot and Terry's shot.... it was looking UGLY.)

That doesn't even make any damn sense.
I thought Rick did a great job with rotations tonight, and the reason that Portland made a hard charge in the 4th is that they were desperate and began attacking the basket. The Mavs withstood their charge and executed down the stretch on both ends, with the exception of a couple of TOs by Terry (who also hit several clutch shots to more than offset the TOs).
It's speculative and really a bit silly to suggest that the Mavs would have won in a blowout if only Carlisle had come back with Marion and Kidd a couple of minutes sooner.

Oh to be there with fluid. I would pay $50 for a washcloth soaked in Blazer fan tears right now.

I will agree that we maybe went Peja for a minute or 2 too long but nothing other than that, you wanted Jet and Marion both fresh for stretch run.

that extra 2 minutes wouldn't have killed him. we won, but we lost a huge lead in game 4 and almost did it again game 6, and adjustments need to be made for the lakers
anyway, i'm just glad that we won.

Honestly, he was one of the first guys that I thought of after the Mavs secured the win. He was at the Rose Garden wearing his Kidd jersey! You have to love that!

The point is:
- you have to burn a timeout to get someone into a game or have a stoppage of play...so 2 minutes is a pretty granular measurement...
- it's not nba2k..where a change automatically makes it happen.
- if jet doesn't bounce the ball off his feet we may not even have an issue...

Oh, come on. Right after the first game of the series that saw us have a huge free throw advantage all game and especially in the 4th quarter, you taught me that one can't just look at raw numbers without pointing out their context. Now, since it fits your agenda, you do the exact same thing to prove your point.
Simply put, the Blazers were MUCH more aggressive in the 4th quarter and rightfully got a lot of calls by forcing the issue. Should we have gotten more calls in our favor? Yep. Should we have shot more free throws? Yep. Was the officiating bad enough to conclude that the Blazers played 8 on 5 tonight? Absolutely not.
Why don't you just admit to being biased instead of pretending that you're objectively and wisely judging the officiating? There are worse things in life than being a Mavs homer.
One last thing: Mavs 19 fouls, Blazers 18 fouls. Chumdawg was right in the first place.

I don't know if anyone caught this but as the Mavs were walking into the tunnel towards the locker room you could hear Dirk say to Chandler, who was a few feet in front of him "not tonight Tyson!". Tyson turned around and dapped him up. Guess it wouldn't have meant much if we blew another 17 point lead but it made me feel good at the time and you could see that mentality as things got tight down the stretch.
This next series should be fun. No pressure since no one expects us to win. It's basically a free shot. Kind of like the SA in 06'

thanks dirno...IMO the bigs are almost always the heart of a basketball team...they are the ones that have to be the "MEN" on the court...I like that dirk/chandler have something going...they are the guys who have to get the boards, block the shots and battle in there...
Lets' go...

Dirk is speaking now. He has said a lot of Portland fans were shouting encouragement for them to go beat LA after the game as they left the court.
