I personally feel like if you are going to post apocalyptic doom-n-gloom posts, you should just refrain from posting and/or following the Mavs.

Harris plays no defense, the defense is bad enough with Jet and JJB but could you believe it adding another putrid perimeter defender?

But you did want everyone to read it, or else you wouldn't have hit that "post reply" button.
When I write an angry rant, I sometimes go back and revise it to make my point more effective. Then I cancel the post because I know nobody wants to read that sh!t anyway.
Maybe you should try it yourself some time.

Maybe you should copy/paste your rant to the top of this page so everyone can see it more easily, instead of letting it waste away at the bottom of the last page.

What the hell does this have to do with Quinten Ross?

Absolutely, it got us out of the first round, it actually DID repair some of our psyche I thought. I thought the team with jkiddo in charge was a stronger, more resilient team.
Now if he leaves your sarcasm may be warranted as we'll be very hard pressed to make the eight seed.

I've been lurking around other forums and I have read that Ross actually has a good jumpshot and is a decent finisher. I don't mind this signing but i think we need another SG, one that can be a legit starter. Maybe we can bring Queezy back or maybe bring Von Wafer aboard.

Not totally crazy about this, however I will reserve judgement. The FO hasn't drafted well but seems to find one underrated player, i.e bass barea, during the offseason who shows up ans shows out.

I think RC found a defensive jewel in Ross, if he's gonna shutdown the likes of Carmelo's and LeBrons, I'd gladly add him on the roster, if they said he had some offensive potentials, wow that's a bonus. One player I really like though is A.Parker, a SG who can really shoot it from the outside, but given his age at 34, I doubt it.

If A Parker is 34 I doubt it also. I really, really love the young direction that RC is pushing Donnie to go for. It will pay off big time during the playoffs and during offseasons.

There is our Kobe stopper. Maybe we can use him also against Parker/Paul a little bit.
Another sign that Wright should be gone in a trade.

I'm on the fence but, I'm willing to give the guy a chance and see what Rick can bring out of him.

New York Times adds this to the end of their article:
Quote:
The Mavs are finishing the paperwork on re-signing Jason Kidd and on extending an offer sheet to Orlando center Marcin Gortat. The club also is trying to bring back free agents Brandon Bass and James Singleton.

How are we still finishing up the Kidd and Gortat paperwork? Lakers have already signed Artest officially. I guess Cuban spends on the basketball product just nothing in the admin.

I have one question: If this Ross guy is supposedly a shut down defender, and will hold Kobe and Melo and Parker and Roy to 10 points on 30% shooting (exaggeration, yes, but you guys are calling him a "shutdown defender")...why exactly did we have no competition in signing this guy to a minimal contract?

ross really is a great defender guys, unlike alot of the "defenders" weve thrown out in recent years who were really guys who just sucked at offense.

Alright, that's true.
I wasn't trying to imply I dislike this signing or anything, in case anyone got that impression.

I personally really like the Ross signing. He is an excellent defender, and it's not like he is the only move they're making.

I actually like the signing.
I think he's a better defender than anyone the Mavs have thrown out the last couple of years, and I think his offense is good enough. Put it this way, he knows his limitations. He won't try to do something he can't.
Personally, I think he's got a great chance to jump Antoine Wright and Devean George in the rotation, if they are even here.

I'm coming straight to you the next time Josh or Marion try to jack up a bunch of threes....hell, any 3.
If I were the coach of this team I would issue a strict edict on 3 pointers.

Marion's FG% and 3P% went WAY down after he left Phoenix. Let's hope that was the result of his awkward role on his recent teams, and he can return to his former self.
