The Mavs may want to run but none of them dribble and pass well enough for them to fast break. Kidd dribbles well but everyone and their dog will allow him to try and make the layup.

Terry pulls up for 3 pointers on fast breaks.

Howard doesn't pass.

Dirk doesn't have the freakish athleticism on fast breaks to finish as well he should.

Dampier can't dribble.

Marion can't dribble or pass.

It's like watching a junior high girl's team running a fast break.

It isn't that simple, we are a jump shooting team with guys like Terry, Nowitzki, and Howard when healthy shoot a ton of mid range shots it takes time to get a rythym lots of times. Look the Nuggets had a tendency to be like this last year and so what? They went to WCF.

... Nuggets were in the top 5 in point differential last year, and had a rep for starting strong.. THATS why they went to the WCF... (that and a botched non call on Wright in Game 3)

That's why it was a big deal (as Fish made it) that the Mavericks were winning this year even when they shot well. They were jump shooting team, and when jumpers didn't go down, they couldn't win anything. They shot free throws well last year, but they couldn't get to the line. Jump shooting, and not even threes, just plain mid-range jumpers, were the only thing that could get them points at all.

Obviously, if this team wants to go anywhere this year, they have to find a complement to jump shots. Not a replacement, because that's pretty much impossible, but a complement. Against better teams and defenses in the playoffs, you can't rely on a mid range jumper to win series.

Even though their offense so far this year has sucked.... the defense has been really good so far this year.

It's kind of funny. In years past, if the Mavs shot this poorly there was no way in hell they would have a shot at winning. This year, it seems like the norm that they shoot like sh*t and have a chance at winning.

How is it possible that this offense is this out of sync? My goodness, they look horrible on the offensive end. Thankfully we're playing a horrible team, and we're playing good defense.

Both teams look bad in this game though.. hopefully we win and we can completely forget about this one.
