Good news: some nice wings still out there. Probably my top three overall going into FA in Grant Williams, Paul Reed, and PJ Washington.
Bad news: they?re all RFA so it?ll either be a gamble or a SNT and that will take 3+ days to settle.
If we want UFA there?s also Miles Bridges (ugh) and Dillon Brooks (gag)

Not sure we want another center, but it?s picked clean
Wood: ew, no and probably a better PF than C
Lopez: reportedly getting in excess of 22 a year
Plumlee: good choice (if 1-4 of our centers are traded)

Luka/Kyrie with spot minutes from Green/Curry/Hardy is probably enough for PG but so sunny is going to be a star.
We only have the MLE and he?s RFA
One can dream though

Miles Bridges fits perfect but there would be a public outcry if they signed him.

Jeez, Lakers have absolutely killed the offseason so far. If Lebron and AD are healthy, they're going to be dangerous next season. That's a big if though.

Some notes about the Mavs and where they stand on the cap so far in free agency:
1 They have committed BAE to Curry
2 That means ultimately they will be hard capped by Apron 1
3 Contrary to what you read elsewhere, they still have PLENTY of room to offer full MLE. Period.
Mavs have commitments to 12 players so far. If you add the full MLE and 1 minimum player, they'd have the 14 players the NBA requires. TOTAL Salary for that? About 170.9M.
The Apron 1 limit (the "hard cap") is 172.34M. Plenty of room.

When the Mavs drafted Lively, I heard a lot of talking heads say it was a bad pick, for no other reason that he's a center, and centers are a dime a dozen in today's NBA. There's a "glut" of centers in the NBA. Like running backs in the NFL, you can always just get a decent one for cheap, therefore you should never use a high draft pick on a center, short of a generational talent like Wembanyama. That was the argument I heard over and over and over again.
The absolute garbage out that seems to be readily available for the center position just hammers home how absolutely idiotic that argument is. There is a glut of mediocre crap out there. The league is full of Javale McGee's and Willie Cauley-Stein's. There is absolutely not a "glut" of actually good players at that position.

Talk to me. Who is left worth the mle? Probably should split it for 2 players?

Grant Williams for MLE. Powell and Pinson back on min deals. Continue to try and move McGee, Maxi, and THJ. Boom.
Luka - Curry - Pinson - (2-way)
Kyrie - Hardy - THJ
Green - Bull - Lawson (2-way)
GWill - OMax - Maxi - Powell
Holmes - Lively - McGee

Strus to Cleveland for 4/63. Miami lost two big pieces. Will they get Lillard?

I'm not as enamored with Lively as others are.
I really liked Hendricks and Utah for some strange reason jumped on him. I think he's going to eventually fit that long athletic PF mode of guys like Gordon, Grant and Vanderbilt guys who can offer great defensive flexibility with matchups.
Hopefully Lively develops but he looks about 3 years away from being a legit starting center if he pans out.

They did that something at the trade deadline this season. They went out and got multiple guys that boosted up their depth and made them a much better team
I'm hoping the mavs can add like 2 bigger wing players that can defend

Yeah, we still need a starting center. 10 plus years and we still can't manage to figure that damn position out. Can't hope that Holmes returns to form or Lively can be good right out of the gate. And dear god, no Powell starting.
Drummond made some sense, but I haven't heard anything since he opted in.
Zubac and J. Allen seem like pipe dreams.

DSJ to the Nets. Woulda rather had him over Seth Curry for the defense. C'est la vie.

Again, I?m still operating on the assumption that the Mavs are really trying to move THJ. If that happens, then Seth?s shooting all of a sudden becomes quite valuable.

True. I can only go by what has happened though versus everyone assuming THJ will be moved.

Lakers have had a good offseason (especially the Gabe Vincent signing). But Jesus Christ people act like they?ve signed prime Jordan every time they sign some mediocre young journeyman that had their QO pulled by their former team 😂.
Like who gives a sh!t about Reddish or Hayes? Those guys don?t move the needle.

I would so back out of that contract if I were Portland. Don't pull a Messly Matthews like the Mavs did.

I'm guessing no one felt that moves at the trade deadline was going to move the needle either and they ended up in the WCF's
I see value in their moves this offseason because it just continues to add to their depth
So when you say it doesn't move the needle keep in mind they were already one of the last two teams standing in western conference just 2 months ago

Twitter tip:
To avoid paying $115 a year, just create multiple accounts and access it on browser and app. You get 600 tweets per account per portal.

I'd take Grant for 30 mil per year and 4 years. That's bargain compared to Bane. I like Bane but Grant shot 40% from 3 and averaged 20 ppg and plays D. 20 ppg scorers are pretty common. Bane at 21 ppg was around 40th in league scoring and his defense is so meh. Laker focused a bit on him defensively and he dropped to 31% in playoffs. Bane is a class act so he should thank Brooks and Ja for staining the Griz image.
What is Green going to get next year if his game continues to progress?

If you spam the retry button it works. So annoying on the first day of FA.
Well from MFFL's twitter account, who half the time doesn't post sources, said the Mavs were looking for a starting center per Stein.
That puts my mind as ease. This really could be Nico's masterpiece this summer.

Wow, Austin Reeves 4/56. 14 mil a year for him is ridiculous. Surprised he didn't just play a year and get more.
