Yeah but Fultz is a really really great fit beside Embiid and Simmons. Thats what they need the most, a high dynamic scoring guard....

If they end up being able to keep Isaiah Thomas and add Josh Jackson, that might be worth Fultz right there... But if Philly throws in those rumored 2018 & 2021 first-rounders, then it's a no-brainer.

I think its a pick trade that really makes a lot of sense for both teams.
Fultz is a perfect fit for the Sixers and a not so great fit for Boston + Jackson is a great fit for Boston (or even Taytum if the Lakers draft Jackson)

Trade is done
Sixers picking Fultz and Celtics hoping for Jackson at #3 (or Tatum) or trading #3...

Right move for the Celtics. Right move for the Sixers.
If Sixers can get these young guys healthy, they will be fun to watch the next few years.

Keep an eye on who Minny drafts. If they pick Frank, then it could mean we have a trade with them...esp if we pick Lauri.

Ahh yes the good 'ol Mike Fisher confirmation of what everyone has already known for ages.
NO to any trade for Rubio that doesn't also net us #7.

So maybe I'm overthinking this but doesn't the Celts/Sixers trade possibly benefit us indirectly?
Celts obviously not taking a PG means there is one less team picking one ahead of us which increases the possibility that one slips to us.
Perhaps I'm missing something but that is the way I see it.

No. Only thing that changes is Philly takes Fultz #1 and Celtics take Jackson #3. Celtics were only going to take Fultz as trade bait since they like IT. They really wanted Josh, so the only thing that changes here is Philly is guaranteed Fultz and Celtics get future picks.
Before
BOS->Fultz
LAL-> Fox
PHI-> Jackson
BOS looks to trade Fultz for vets/talent
After
PHI-> Fultz
LAL->Fox
BOS-> Jackson
and BOS has future pick

That's assuming Boston keeps the pick.

Ainge knows how to get picks. It's just a matter of time before he cashes them into Butler/George/Hayward or perhaps two of those. Possibilities are endless.

All-Star forward Paul George has informed the Indiana Pacers that he plans to become a free agent in the summer of 2018 and will leave the franchise – preferably for the Los Angeles Lakers, league sources told The Vertical.

Rumors are that the Celtics using the #3 to get Butler. Add Hayward in FA and you got a really really nice team and still a shitload of picks.
Thomas
Hayward
Butler
Horford

Wonder if they are giving Bradley or Smart? Doubt they'd include Jaylen Brown. That cat's for real. If it #3, Smart and Brown that's a lot to give up.

Man, Indy really missed their window to trade Paul George. Pointless pursuit of meaningless playoff spot strikes again. Sound familiar?
Should've taken whatever Ainge likely offered. Even if it was one pick and one player. Now they get a disgruntled Kevin Love rental, best case. Though I suppose the Cleveland rumours could leverage a deal with LAL. Not likely though.

I know it's fun to talk of trading back and what not, but I think the Mavs stay in the top 9. Mitchell is also worth a look, but Monk is the safer bet.

I thought all along they take Jackson, regardless if they moved down or not...Even If they can't find a trade to add an athletic big or at least upgrade the center position.

Lol I envy Boston now. What a turnaround. It helped that Brooklyn was so stupid a few years back, but even that LAC 2019 pick might turn out to be lottery. That would be perfect for DeAndra.

Boston should be patient with getting a big....there are two extremely good centers (Bamba and Ayton) that will most likely come out in the draft next season and that Brooklyn pick should put them in a position for one of them.
And completely agree about Jackson....great fit for them and has a decent chance to be the best player coming out of this draft.
I don't see Lakers taking him with Ingram being there and George most likely coming to them so that was a brilliant move by Ainge.

Hmm, I'm not sure how patient I would be. Maybe if Olynyk plays like he did in the last series. Otherwise, that team is as ready as anyone in the East. They get a solid big they have a great chance at playing the Warriors next finals. I wouldn't wait around for a rookie next year to help.

It will be very hard for them to do anything to upgrade their center position this year. Is anyone available via trades, FA, or the draft, with respect to their draft position, that makes sense and that much more of an impact? I don't know...

Frank is such a Donnie pick that it's almost too obvious. I can't imagine that you'd hire that coach and Frank not be the pick.
It's gonna be a great night though because the backup plan Monk is just as sexy.

So what do we do about NY? Obvious Mavs want Frank but if he's not there, he's not there.
