Finally saw Resevoir Dogs last night... it was really good.
I had two questions from it. Who shot Joes son? Joe was pointing at Mr. Orange, Joe's Son was pointing at Mr. White, and Mr. White was pointing at Joe. Was it Mr. Pink?
And what happened to Mr. Pink?

Weird that you said that German. I watched The Departed last night (a remake of Internal Affairs) and I had to go out and buy the Van Morrison version of Comfortably Numb because its so damn chilling.

Weird you said that, Erica. I watched it and must say, it´s a really good movie, and it made me upset, when i realized that i had seen a similar movie. And, i don´t know what to say.
Martin got an Oscar for a remake ? For a remake ?
No Kundun, no Good Fellas, no Casino, no temptation of Christ, no Taxi Driver, no Raging Bull ???
I don´t know what stuff the AMPAS is injecting all day ?
They wanted to avoid the false play they played on Stanley Kubrick.

Oscar judges are a lot like NBA refs-- they try to make up for other mistakes they made. Departed getting an oscar appears to be a "makeup call" but still a great movie in itself other than the fact that the ending is so disturbing/confusing.
Dicaprio was head and shoulders the most compelling actor and character in the whole thing. Without his complexity/vulnerability the whole film woulda been crap.

The Departed is really really good. I can remember, the cinema-owner donated loads of popcorn to me, so i ate the whole film long.
Scorsese seems to like DiCaprio. My opinon is, that crime scene movies don´t really need a star cast. I think it´s a risk to get well known actors, because the movie can turn star-centered, like Traffic e.g.

Goodfellas, Casino, Temptation of Christ, Taxi Driver, and Raging Bull are all extremely overrated.
Goodfellas and Taxi Driver have a little something...but the others struggle to say the least.

Depp is overrated in that no one is as good as he is touted to be...but he is a very good and creative actor. He is one of the few guys who doesn't play to type in just about every flick he is in.

He has started to play to type... He fell in love with being so different that he started to look the same in his roles. I agree that he can be a very good actor... no disagreement there. But, he's fallen too much in love with himself.

Still, I can handle an actor who chooses to play quirky (yet diverse) characters again and again more so than the Tom Cruise, Sam Jackson, or the Denzel Washington who continuously insert the same character (themselves) into flick after flick.

I agree. And I'll be honest... In real life, he comes off as one of the dumbest human beings I've ever heard in my life.. so that's a strike against him. It's hard to believe that a talented actor such as he could really be such a idiot in real life.. but it happens.

In just about every interview I've seen him...it seems like he has next to nothing to say...he just bumbles and fumbles around.

Ok, let me re-state my case slightly.
In the case of Jack Sparrow, Depp is a genius.
And that one I'm not backing down from.

Hm, but he would have deserved a price for one of those more than for the Departed, which is a fine movie but not unique.

Departed was almost perfectly cast and almost overcame having so much talent (Sheen, Damon, Nicholson, Walberg, Dicaprio).
Damon was a little weak when it came to his moral choices and motivation, but otherwise was pretty good at a hard role.
Nicholson was perfect but he still is such a big name that its hard to even see him as anything else.
Everyone else was so good that it didn't matter. Wahlberg really surprised me. It wasn't a complex role but he was immersed.

In my opinion, Departed was superior to any of the movies you had mentioned. No, perhaps it wasn't unique, but I'll take very good over unique any day. Fran Drescher's voice is more unique than that of your average woman... anyone care to hear her speak?

No doubt about it, but half of the plot was copied. That´s my problem.

My average women ?
I hate Damon, Wahlberg, Nicholson and Scorsese, because they all look better than me.

I'm generally not at all interested in video games that become movies.
However, Max Payne was no ordinary video game, and this trailer looks absolutely freaking fantastic to me.
Anyone else?

Just watched a movie based on the life of Thomas Edison... I can't remember the name of it, ..i suppose I'll look it up later. But, it was quite entertaining..corny, but entertaining.
