What a wasted performance for Dirk and EB.

This team would look so different if it had a NBA caliber point guard.

Fuck this team. Tank it. Chop everyone but Dirk, Marion, Brand, and Collison. Let's not fully waste what greatness Dirk has left to give us.

It's his fault for not coordinating the team on a must-score posession. I don't see how you can even defend his guy's coaching anymore.

The Portland loss was when the season really ended. But this was the nail in the coffin.

It's kinda unbelievable to think that Mike James should have been closing out this game. Collison's been horrible.

A game like this proves that a fully healthy Dirk to begin the season probably wouldn't have changed much.

Mavs guards sucked "a bit" today
Also:
- 88.00 OffEff by MIL in the 1st half is the 2nd fewest for them in 1st halves on the road this season
- 58.95 TRB_PRC by DAL is the most for them this season
- 1.00 AST_TOV by DAL is the fewest for them at home this season
- 5.88 3FG_PRC by DAL is the 2nd fewest for any team this season
- 20.20 TOV_P100 by DAL is the 2nd most for them at home this season
Strong rebounding effort led by Dirk, but ball movement, turnovers and poor 3PT% killed us today.

Scoring 21 points on 8-16 with Collison as your PG is like scoring 50 points with Chris Paul or Kidd running the show...
Dirk recieved one timely pass during this game. It happened when Mike freakin James dished the ball for a 3...
ugh.

An ironic fun/sad tidbit from tonight: -15.82 PER and -0.554 WS48 by Mike James was the worst performance this season by any Mavs player that played at least 10 minutes outside garbage time in a game.
Best performance so far: Roddy (48.61 PER, 0.503 WS48) against the Spurs on January 25th in 16 minutes.

And it should be. This is not a playoff caliber team, they are about where they should be.

Gotta disagree with that. Everything would be perfect if Dirk started of the season healthy... that's when OJ Mayo was actually playing good.
I think if we can get Collision/Mayo and Dirk all playing good at the same time, that can translate into wins.

I'd thought James was looking a little better lately, but he was absolutely terrible tonight. Bad offensively, and even worse defensively. Doubly frustrating because I've seen Roddy play Ellis very well before.

Also really want this team to tank but I know with dirk healthy and now playing they can't just ask him to stop, either way I am rooting for losses to help draft pick and lottery position

Roddy is at least smart enough to look for Dirk. Are these other guys just dumb? Don't they know that they are playing with a hof. F'ing M. James plays 10 minutes and passes the ball to Dirk twice. Other guards jack up shots without looking at Dirk. WTF is RC doing.

I think the most troubling aspect of playing James is that he cannot guard his man 95% of time. When he is in with Mayo, James/Mayo cross match defensively most of the time.
I must say Crowder must have one heck of a work ethic that impresses Carlisle because he is pretty damn awful especially on the offensive end. I said it during the preseason and I'll say it again, B. James was the Mavs best pick and his ceiling is Joel Anthony .

But Mayo might not have had those same shots with Dirk around. And why would Mayo all of a sudden not play well now? I'll give you that they might have started better, but I see no evidence to suggest that the team wouldn't have stumbled just the same. The pg position has been in disarray all season...don't see Dirk changing that. The center by committee has been there all season...don't see Dirk changing that (although Brand does his best). Mayo turns the ball over like he wants the other team to win...don't see Dirk changing that. Collison is afraid to shoot and vanishes in games...don't see Dirk changing that either.
Simply put...if the team can't win when Dirk posts numbers like he has the past two games against sub .500 teams, then I don't see why a healthy knee would have made a world of difference.
