Well.... I did it as a joke for fluid.... and he saw it.... and I couldn't really tell for sure but I thought perhaps he was a bit perturbed about it so I changed it back.
I wish the thread creator could change the title him/herself.

there are like 8 threads on the mavs page that are by posters I've never even heard of...and most of them are 100% worthless.

Having a posting requirement would prevent all these freaking stupidass spammers. Mods are handling them well but its still aggravating.

My favorite kind of spam ban is a pre-emptive spam bam. Nothing quite as satisfying as knowing that the idiot spammer, whether they be a bot or a person, while creating a spamalicious thread their spam butt is getting spam banned and as soon as they hit the Post button their little spam happy world comes crashing down on their little spam ass.
The reason I bring this up is because these spamiots are getting better at hiding. And we recently (right now) had a new member that shows minimal signs of spamitude however I can't confirm. The user, Dr. Stanley Weiss, seems like someone that quite possibly could post a thread about the latest Viagra pill.... or perhaps it's just one of Doc's graduate students that just graduated.
Thoughts?

it would be nice to see the forum take action on this front...there are just "too many threads by new posters" that are of 0% worth

I really don't have as much of a problem with new posters as I have a problem with German posters not knowing English. I guess there's not much you can do to stop that though.

I don't mind the German that have trouble with English, I mind the new posters that start pointless threads, or start threads that have already been started.

yeah, I prefer Mongolian posters, theirs English is more good, you know...
and, I am not sure what is more annoying, posters that make language mistakes or those having over-sized pictures in their signature...

Does StackAttack have a problem with Germans or with posters which can´t write in English very good? Why did he especially (resp. only) name Germans which don´t know English? Any thoughts or maybe an answer from StackAttack himself?
A little clemency for a foreign-language poster would be desirable. And sorry StackAttack for not writing English as good as my native language, but even if my grammar isn´t that good, I think my posts are mostly understandable and most of you could probably be glad to write as good in German (resp. not the native laguage) as I write in English.

I have a problem with people who don't know the English language. I mentioned Germans just because we have a lot of German posters because of the Dirk fanbase, especially emerging around playoff time. Zoidberg, you're fine, I'm talking about threads like:

OK, StackAttack, I know what you mean.
There are many meaningless threads opened and I also hate it, if people open threads with already existing topics. There you can spot the people which only are interested in posting something, without reading the board at all and this is not the sense of a board.
As some of you already mentioned, the best way to prevent of bad and meaningless posts is to ignore them. Therefore I also don´t understand why you StackAttack have a post in the thread you named above. I think, if none is answering to those posts, the starter of the thread will lose interest in posting.

I make a motion to put a cap on posters thread starting abilities with less than 50 posts.
All in favor say "I"?

It's not as easy that unfortunately.
Just try to deal with it everybody. It's the offseason now...it's not so bad with the new threads.

That makes me wonder if the spam will start to come in the middle of some random thread rather than in the form of a new one now. Hopefully this screws up those bots pretty well.
Still, it's a victory!

I was able to do a pre-emptive span bam just now with our newly registered friend webcamshownow. The thrill isn't the same knowing his account is already limited in it's abilities.... but it was still satisfying enough.

If anyone needs viagra, or a webcam show hit me up.
I'm also involved in MLM, affiliate marketing, and have lots of great home based business products which require a very small investment.
If you want to buy a home to flip with no money down send me a PM. Oh and I can repair your credit, and sell you some HGH too.

I was just about to start a thread in here about this.. but then... walah I searched for the thread beforehand and lookie-here. I found it before posting. Anyways, I strongly believe that this still needs to be looked at. .. a 150 post & 3-6 month minimum
