Laura Green spend 2 minutes telling us JT was upset with the loss Thursday night. Amazing.

Dear God in heaven and Lord of all things righteous, please don't let Avery Johnson turn Dirk Nowitzki into Pau Gasol.
Pretty please?

Desperate fadeaway by Buckner...what a horrible offensive possession.

Buckner isn't really contributing much, and taking fall away jumpers over TMac just makes it worse. I'd rather suffer growing pains with Ager coming off the bench and Stackhouse starting (or vice versa).

the Mavs lack an offensive identity at the moment largely due some brain dead players and a head coach that is offensively challenged.

I liked the team better when they were running the offense through Dirk last year.. For some reason, that stopped a little after mid season...

OMG why did we trade Armstrong? The guy shot 5-6, 3-4 from three. Thats why our offense sucks-- we gave away our sharpshooters

Boston, Denver, Seattle, and Dallas.
Looks like these'll be the only teams left without a win after tonight.

I can't watch the game today, cuz it's not televised here, but someone please tell me how JT has only 1 point?!

Yao eating up the Mavs' Cs tonight...it just hasn't even been a contest to this point.
And Damp picks up two fouls, neither of them guarding Yao.

I have a feeling that Dirk's going to have to single handedly carry this team like he has for most of the past two years...

He's playing incredibly passive.
We just can't get anything going offensively. This team looks like a group of guys that just formed a team on the playground. Just zero offensive identity.

Avery with a good move to take out the Cs, so JVG counters by taking out Yao...not certain why JVG would let Avery dictate taking out the Rockets' best player of the evening, but hey, whatever helps the Mavs.

I'm not so certain there is a defensive identity, either. I'm holding out hope for a comeback tonight, but thus far it looks a failed offseason, training camp, and preseason.

LOL. Good grief. That's a bit of a knee jerk.
I really thought we'd struggle early on. This doesn't surprise me at all.
But let's give the team some time.
Edit: I misread that. I thought you said season, not preseason. My bad.

I haven't given up yet, but it hurts to lose to both of your division rivals
