i'm hoping we don't make any moves yet we are playing to good ,, but if we have to make a few moves it will be butler , haywood , barea, i think mahimmi is a better player than haywood , i wouldn't doubt alginca is better , we need a solid backup pg

If he continues to do that then it would be tough to pull the Andre trigger. He's still not a distributor at all and he doesn't finish very well, but he's a gamer and tough on the boards in traffice.
I've seen him come out with some rebounds that were gotten from sheer grit. That's a nice...

Butler, as much as his game frustrates me, at least still has the ability to be a primary offensive weapon when he's playing well. Iggy does not have that.
All else being equal I'd still much rather have Iggy, but at the cost of future assets, the cost of team chemistry, and the cost of Iggy's contract, I'm pretty much out of Iggy at this point.

He's been much better lately taking his shots within the offense. His isolation jumpers are seemingly less frequent and the frequency which he takes the ball to the hole is increasing.

You clearly need to read my previous posts, where I basically say the same thing you just said. Taking one game, though, and then having five or six people comment on using it as a reason not to get Iggy is crazy.

So... does this count as a major trade? I'm not sure.
The Mavericks would probably on insist on a first rounder or two as well.

Neat fact I saw at DB: The Mavs are 46-12 since the J-Ho trade.

Wow...that's a heck of a record...65 win season...
That crappy playoff record sure puts the kibosh on the good feelings from it. We'll just have to change that this year won't we?

I'm really inclined to use the old "Let's go to war with what we've got" line. It used to be a desperation line after being unable to get a trade done. This time there aren't a whole lot of reasons to make changes, simply because we're a good to great team and due to the lack of options. Even a straight Caron for Iggy deal, which looked like a no brainer after last season, doesn't seem to be particularly interesting. And then, there's still Roddy to hopefully make a difference later in the season.
There are no guarantees that we can keep it up and reach the promised land, not in a league as good as this one, but we have every reason to believe that we can give any team a really good fight. Obviously, this could change, just like a seemingly reasonable trade could do damage.

Think we should make a play for Troy Murphy if the Nets buy him out. Dan Fegan (Shawn Marion, Jet) is his agent and we're in good with him.
Also we'll have our MLE to offer whereas most other teams(Orlando, Miami) wont.

They get a starting center, exp. Stevenson.
And get rid of Jax contract.
We could make some package including JJB. They could use a PG. I wouldn't mind Brown as a back-up center either.
I think Charlotte wil be looking to do some deals.

They'd trade Mohammed's $6.8mil expiring for Stevenson's $4.1mil expiring, dedicate 5 and 1/2 seasons to Haywood when Mohammad is putting up better numbers in less minutes and trade Jackson's (best player in the trade) $23.4mil/2.5 seasons contract for Terry's $16.7mil/1.5 year contract - I'm sure they could do better than that...

You could be right, but stranger things have happened.
Still think we could do some kind of deal with Charlotte.

This thread is just a sneaky attempt at putting a trade thread in the main page. It should be moved to where it belongs...
Now to be fair it probably didn't start out that way but....

Not really the category of a major trade, but as we tried to get a decent backup for Dirk in the offseason this is maybe interesting:
-----------------------
After suspending Andray Blatche and JaVale McGee one game for an altercation outside of a club, league sources say that the Washington Wizards will consider trading either Blatche or McGee in the coming weeks. The team will gauge interest around the league and after shopping the players, decision whether or not a trade would be the right move for the franchise.
Read more NBA news and insight: http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?...#ixzz19Wtqy5uO
-----------------------
I really don't know Blatche and his game, but statswise he seems to have an inside-game (5.6 shots at the rim per game. Tyson leads DAL so far with 2.9 0-o) and is a reliable rebounder. Its a big contract, but basically the same category as Harrington (35 to 33 over the next 5 years ... plus he is 4 years younger than Harrington), who we wanted during offseason.
Don't know what Washington would want in return, but since Arenas went out they could use some depth in the backcourt.

We have to get rid of Terry and Haywood. Take Terry and get exp. Butler.
Take Haywood and get exp. Stevenson.

I like this trade because its small (won't cost as much) yet significant. If you give Dirk a backup, Marion can play SF exclusively. Troy is a good rebounder (cardinal isn't cutting it) and has an inside out game as well. Then you can make minor trades for possibly a backup PG, SF.
