Have I missed anything yet, my kids knocked on the door and let us know that school was canceled...I'm still under the covers and decided to check if I had any e-mails.
Call me a wuss if you must...I'm still enjoying a late morning. God bless the virtual office!!!

The big boss just sent out an email asking the dev department to make their way in for the second half of the day.
Really weird and unprecedented for us. Ah well, at least I live pretty close.

Places in the northeast shut down because of sleet/ice too.
Ice is much more dangerous than snow.

What e-mail...I didn't get the e-mail...maybe my provider is having problems...I'll respond to the e-mail tomorrow, if I ever actually see it

When it started "snowing" today, I said yeah right, whatever.
Then it kept going.
And going
And going
And pretty soon it was time for me to drive to church in the evening...in a blizzard....with icy roads. White Christmas, yes that was amusing, but seriously...wtf.

We were supposed to be at my wife's family farm outside of Colorado City tonight. We were told that west of Weatherford the weather cleared up nicely, so we decided to give it a go. We left the house at 3:30, meandered to downtown Fort Worth, discovered that the ramps for 30 AND 20 Westbound were close, turned around and came home. Pulled back into our driveway at 6:00.
Awesome.

Someone just slid into another vehicle on my street. I heard it, but didn't see it because I was holding my daughter and couldn't get up.
This is why I park our vehicles in the garage. It's what the garage is for.

I don't live in Texas, but here in southern new jersey, we're supposed to get over 2 feet of snow. For the Washington DC/Baltimore area, it could be the most amount of snow in modern history.
Just crazy. There's no way I will get to work tomorrow.

Can't mess with Texas women.
(I'll take the sh!tty weather!)
EDIT: California has fine women, but how much of it is real? Texas FTW!

i have spent the last 7 days either shovelling or pushing (cars) or pulling (sleds). I am sore as hell! but, frankly, it was a GREAT week!

Anybody else at work right now or am I the only person in Dallas who works for a bunch of puppy-punching fascists?

Three quarters of my slide into work today I received an e-mail that our offices were closing. So I came in. But really? You send an office closing e-mail 15 minutes before 8:00? Unbelievable.

yeah..left my house at 6:15 and got to work at about 8... traffic was light. I was fishtailing all over the place in my truck, but it wasn't too bad other than some lack of control when it came to getting my truck to go where I wanted it.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to teach your dogs how to write your name in the snow with pee!

You gotta love creative bosses who find a way to let you work from home. Grrr.
Although I will say that I was surprisingly productive from home and managed to get my day's work done ahead of time yesterday. So sometimes you have to settle for life's small victories.

In the office today, didn't have to drive through anything real bad this morning. Most dangerous part was probably walking through the parking lot.
