You talk like Wright is this All World player. He is what he is. He's not a starter in this league and never will be. Green however has the potential to be. Atleast he should get the chance anyway. Wright would be a great guy to have come off the bench probably a part of your 8 man rotation but that's about it.

Dirk has just sucked the last 3 games. Just horrendous effort on his part.
Houston hopefully will lose to Memphis tonight. If they do then the Mavs better take advantage of it. Of course they would have had another game on Houston too had they taken care of business.
Just proves my point even more.

Boston was 13-1 at home and 3-9 on the road in the playoffs and finals last year. If they don't actually get more games at home each round, do they still win either of the first two series?

HCA is going to be huge once again this year in the west. It will mean nothing in the East until Cleveland, Boston, Orlando play each other.
|
Why do you say HCA is going to be huge "again" in the west? When was it huge before? The Spurs beat the Suns no matter who has HCA. Utah has beat Houston two years in a row with Houston having HCA. The Warriors beat the Mavs without HCA. In fact, most of the series where the team with HCA won, the team with HCA was clearly better anyway. In most of those series, you could take away the higher seed's HCA and they'd still win (ex: Hornets-Mavs last year).
Like I said, HCA is overrated. Yes, teams obviously play better at home than on the road, but HCA doesn't give you an entire series at home. Regardless of when a series ends (4, 5, 6, or 7 games), the team with HCA had, at most, one extra game at home. That's really not that big of a deal. The better team will win most of the time anyway.

Then you're an idiot?
Green has proven he can score on the drive, from the jumper and behind the arc. Anyone who can do all three of those things and play marginally okay defense and has decent decision making should be able to play in the NBA. Green has marginally okay defense (with room to improve) and has decent decision making (again, with room to improve).
I firmly believe Wright is a better player RIGHT NOW than Green. Wright has the potential, imo, to be a 5th starter or 6th or 7th man off the bench...nothing more.
Green has the chance of becoming a LeBron-like player. Not the next LeBron, but an extremely atheletic player who dunks like crazy, has an outside game and has the potential to become a very good shot blocker and defender.

What? What made you come to the conclusion? We haven't seen him even on the floor this season and when he has been he's showing his potential. Wow.
JET is getting his hands on the ball everytime Ben Gordon has it. I remember last time the two met Gordon made JET his bitch. JET's not having it this game.

Probably not, but I'm not saying that being at home isn't advantageous. In an individual game (read: Game 7), HCA is huge. But most series don't go to 7 games anyway, and a superior team is going to wrap up a series before then--usually--regardless of the order of their home games.

Why won't Carlisle play a center? He has two of them. Play the two centers 48 minutes.

Who do you consider the second center? Hollins, Bass and Singleton are all more PF's in my opinion. All of them are somewhat undersized when playing C.

What is everyone's obsession with Green? We see him for a few minutes a game, a slam dunk contest..and someone has already compared him to Lebron. This kid is young and raw. There are people all around basketball who know 1000000x more than us and they declare he isn't ready. Do you really think that if he has the ability to help us win the Mavs front office would hold him back? The fact is.. he isn't ready yet. He needs to work on his fundamentals that he didn't learn when he skipped college.

Dirk finally found his shot somewhat. He needs to carry it over in the second half. Chicago is getting to the rim at will, and their is no shotblockers waiting for them. Hollins can check Noah and/or Thomas. No reason not to play him.

Actually, what was said is that Green could become LeBron-esque. Not Lebron, and he's not Lebron right now, but maybe, 5 years down the road, he'll be that type of a player for a team.

The defense is just so porous with Dirk as the center. That problem as well as the SG has to be addressed by the trade deadline.

You're right, Hollins is definantly a center.
I thought he was around 6'9" not 7'1".
Its just that I'm not used to center's who are actually athletic...Damp and Diop? Enough said.

I would say that's more of a perimeter defense issue more than anything. Sure Hollins can block, but he'll mount up the fouls pretty quickly.
Green:
Where exactly are you hoping to get him minutes from? Wright sets the tone fairly well, he'll attack AND he'll defend. Green is still raw on defense and bites on fakes too much. So the SG position isn't an option with Wright and Jet.
SF - Josh takes a chunk of the minutes like Jet does. They'll run the Kidd/Jet backcourt a lot so you need some defense to go with that. That's why you see Wright, George and Singleton.
So where do you see him getting the minutes?

I'm not thinking it's realistic to address both of those issues and fix it by the deadline, you might get one but not both. That's the timeless debate we've had for years on end.

I'd love to see if Hollins could add some bulk over the offseason without losing his athleticism. If he can just get a little bigger, I think he's really be able to bully some guys off the block.
