Nice run to close the first half! Dirk is 5-7, I like that
Well, I mean the percentage, not the amount of taken shots. Should be 10-12 instead.

That's a pretty great end to the half. Kidd totally left his mark once he came back into the game.
Orlando averages about 10 made 3's per game, they only have 1 so far. I remember it too, it was just a lapse in defense, otherwise they've been doing a good job defending the line.

Dwight Howard played almost 21 minutes. Pretty much for him. Well, without him the edge would be way larger. Nice defense so far by the Mavs. Of course, you simply can't stop Howard completely in the paint, that's impossible.

So far, that's exactly the game plan (and it's working...)
Howard - 21
Pietrus - 6
Lewis - 6
Hedo - 6

That was a beautiful offensive half for the Mavs. Kidd posting up, free throw attempts, backdoor cuts, alley oops, adequate perimeter shooting, what more could you ask for?
Defensively, I like that we're not doubling Howard. let him get his, Damp is doing a decent job. if Howard can make those kind of hook shots and make his FTA's you simply tip your hat.
First 3 minutes of 2nd half are critical, Magic are a team that can get very hot quickly. DONT LET THEM GET ARHYTHM from behind the arc.

Mavs can totally win this!
Remember how horrible Anthony Johnson was when he was here? Cuban dumped him off for nothing midway through the year if I remember correctly.
And fat he was, too. Can't even believe he even made that one basket in the first half.

Yup....you'll live with Howard's performance as long as you really take away what makes Orlando so good...the 3 point shooting. He usually will suck in the defense and that gives those guys open looks from beyond the arc. If you take that away all those 3s that are now 2s will add up and you're now working harder to win.

I really like that we challenged Jameer on defense, largely because Jameer tried to take it back at Kidd and that disrupted their offense for a few series.

I like Kidd's control of the game for the Mavs, hope we still got the momentum going to third and have enough cushion for the fourth.

Dwight just looks like an outstanding guy standing on and off the court. The way he interacts with his teammates and opponents
Edit: Howard goes for a career high and the rest of the team go for a career low!

Mavs should be able to win this game due to the Magic being a jumpshooting team. If the Mavs play solid defense and stay in front of their defender we can make this game very ugly.
It is very nice to see Kidd being able to control this team. It seems like he is his ole self attacking the lane and getting the offense going with penetration.

When Nelson went down, that was nothing. Did Damp even touch him?

no. It should have been a kicked ball on Nelson, if anything.

This is too close for comfort. It just seems whoever can get out of the funkiness first will take control.
And Yeah...I don't get why Damp was called for a foul on that Nelson play.

I believe Damp didn't even touch him. Nelson kicked the ball himself and then fell.

If Nelson can't return it's an easy win for Dallas. No team can survive 15 minutes of Anthony Johnson.

A free flowing Kidd may be the best answer for Hollins. That guy can flat out run.

Dirk is the best big man at doing that. Drawing the defender and hitting the 15-20 footer.

Kidd has been the best Maverick on the court tonight IMO. He's making things happen for this team.
