Seriously, I don't get it either. He takes the ball away from Anderson so much.

Take Pangos out. He looks like a kindergarten kid between those athletic guys.

Tyler with the Gamewinner. Outstanding game from him and Anderson.

Mavs finally win (and win when it matters).

Very fitting that Tyler gets the winner with how he played. I don't know what got into him tonight but it needs to stay there.

Tyler looked with it tonight. The other nights he didn't look slow but just didn't react well to the ball.
Tonight he played with more control and wasn't reaching but if he wants to make it to the NBA he will need to get better defensively.

Dallas Mavericks vs LA Lakers - Full Highlights | July 15, 2015 | NBA Las Vegas Summer League
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDeuKmjjY6c
- full 8 1/2 minutes of highlights

Box score:
http://www.nba.com/games/20150715/DA...fo.html?ls=slt

Jeremy Tyler dominates (25 points, 11 rebounds) at NBA Summer League!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUhYGRdKkSk
- he looks pretty fluid with a some footwork
- still seems unsure/soft on defense

I would like the coaching staff to tell the guards to start going for assist numbers by feeding the ball to their bigs (Anderson/Powell/Tyler). The me-first or scoring guard play has killed any rhythm on this team. But our big guys also need to play better defense. The Lakers starting F/C rotation shot 56%.

Next game is tonight: Thursday, July 16 - 5:00 PM vs D-League Select

Defense is almost impossible to judge in the Summer League... It tends to play out like a really, really sloppy All-Star game -- all offense, not enough team chemistry to put much effort into defense.

Yes, I totally agree. Just that there were a few plays where Tyler attempted to move into a charge position but then turned his body to the side when the contact happened. It's a tough skill to develop and trust in, but when centers learn to go straight up with confidence, they can actually make a huge difference. Mozgov was very good at this in the playoffs last season.

I didn't know Tyler was picked 1 spot after Parsons. He was a ghost to start the SL but these last 2 games he's been a different player. I hope he gets a camp invite.

Pangos is a bad version of Steve Nash (when Steve was 40 years old)

Wayns is also fantastic this SL and a great Defender.

Wayns and Tyler should get Camp invites.

My issue with Wayns is he has 12 TO's to 15 Assists. He looks for his own shot 1st 2nd and 3rd then looks for others. Usually just running into lane and going for the finish, step back or gets caught in the air and turns it over. His shot is falling so he looks good but at 6'2 and not elite quickness I would like to see him use what he has to set up a little more.

Lets get real, what's the purpose of waayns, he is a undersized pg only, there are 0 reasons to hold 5 pg's on the roster. He'll get a training camp invite somewhere but he is a PG that can't distribute and we have no purpose for. He also is a old dude shining in the d league, pass.

Agree with most things but hes 24 (like some Seniors are).

I only would bring him in for TC if we can get rid of Felton before Camp starts.

Does anyone know some of the history on Jeremy Tyler? Wiki says that he skipped the last year of high school and a commitment to University of Louisville. He's been playing in Israel, Japan, and China. Was his grades not good enough to finish HS or start college? Or was it just a money thing? I'm curious because he appears to be a mature type of player and seems well spoken in the post game interview. Given his BB travelling, I would expect him to be hungry for the NBA and great backup C.

I'll admit I wasn't so high on Justin Anderson during the draft but he's grown on me ever since the draft. Looks like he'll be a lock down defender who can defend 4 positions other than center. Plus he's improved in every statistical category every year in college.

Powell loves shooting 3s in summer league...

Still not sold on Anderson. Little too slow to me/shot has a big dip. I do not agree with whoever said he could guard 1-4 positions. PGs would blow by him.

Could be a backup. Dont see him being a starter consistently in the league.

Or maybe I could just wait to see how he translates to actual NBA not summer league.
