I like how last year's injured Lakers were an elite team when they were under .500, but this year's injured Mavs team that's tied for 5th seed isn't considered elite.

I didn't think he was saying Dirk was ugly... I thought he was saying how the dunk was ugly and wasn't worth a highlight. He also said Dirk couldn't jump high to dunk which just isn't true. But he just can't or doesn't jump high all game. I have seen Dirk jump incredibly high and run incredbly fast. Unbelievaly fast really. Faster than any player his size imo.But he just doesn't seem to have that much endurance.

Now then....Getting Back to the REAL SUBJECT AT HAND :

Great Win by the Mavs tonight. When the Big 3 start clicking like that, the Mavs are hard to beat. Big 3 combined for 74 points tonight and, IMO, should be the ones taking the bulk of Shots from now on with Walker and Jamison pitching in here and there.

Do that, and the Mavs will start rolling once again like last year...

ON TO UTAH!!

GO MAVS!!!

Keep editing...It won't work...but nice try. All of your posts have already been sent to the Mods. I did ask you, long ago, to take this to the PM system, and you didn't...you keep making it public...your PM isn't open sI have no way of saying anything else to you.

--- I've been thinking about what you said...that "you're a jerk" comment...and I guess that I have been a jerk ...for the last few months...and I apologize to the old timers and the real Mavs fans here for that.

--- I just never thought that I'd see the day when this MAVS board, would be overrun by 2-3 fans from another team. I don't know anyone, and this includes people like Doc, Dooby, Dude, KG, MFF, FFM, LRB, Max, Pfuzz, Xerxes, U2, Mandy, Erica, MFForever, BLG,Chiwas, Nash13, Sj, Fidel, Afroman, AE , Rhylan, Bayliss, Mad and Evil, Sturm, Sweets, Sike, and so MANY others (want me to go on ? )..who would EVER think about posting so repetitively with so little so say. None of these people would ever post 3 times in a row just to hear themselves talk or see their name in print. Nor would anyone of them use the CONTINUED language that you use.

--- It would have been nice if you'd understood the points in my last post..,it's pretty easy to understand why you didn't talk about them it's SO easy to give a facile answer...like "One cuss word"...Denial is so easy.

...Max and pFuzz can love Walker and they're NOT DISRESPECTED by anyone here....Hell, I don't agree with Dude; I don't agree with Mad And Evil about Bradley or Best; I don't agree with Chi about Najera; and I don't agree with MFF about Fin. But, the one thing in common that we all have is ability to fit in; we actually LIKE each other; we ACTUALLY talk a lot through PM's. Until you learn that, you'll just be another guy with no clue.

As Max said, "Don't go away Mad. Just go away"

I'm not your "pal". And you WILL quit hijacking this board.

First off, this is not YOUR private forum. I have not done anything wrong and have just focused on Mavs Basketball. I'm sorry if my "multiple-posts" bother you and all but you'll just have to deal with them. I am not causing any trouble, unlike StupidDannyAinge, and I am certainly NOT going to stop posting here just 'cause you said so.

And so you've taken all my posts and sent them to the mods? Fine. You hoping I get banned for posting my opinions here?

Look, OP, I don't know why you have a beef with me all the time but let's get one thing straight : I am what I am. I'm a very fervent Walker supporter. I am also a MAVERICKS Supporter as well(notice I don't talk, complain, whine..blah..blah about Walker like StupidDanny did).

To finish this post(hopefully), let me say that I will continue to post my basketball-related opinions and I really do not think that one can get banned for doing that!

Goodnight.

And Im not saying that Dirk is better then KG, or I would rather have him, though I would rather have Dirk. However, Dirk is not far behind, its not clear imo, and you definately can't base KG being better off tonight in which imo Dirk outplayed him.

ummm KG took 28 shots to get 27 points. Does anyone else see something wrong with that?
and besides, everyone knows that team is still pretty much a one man show even with all the new talent.

KG is a great player...but this is rediculous:

Dirk just isn't as consistent as KG and Dirk sure as hell doesn't have the athletic ability that KG has. Like I said in my original post, Dirk is my favorite player but being realistic and if I wanted to win a championship.++KG --Dirk from my team. We would have a finals appearance this year and a possible championship

Before KG can win a championship there Shaggy...he will have to get out of the first round of the playoffs...which he has been unable to do for the last 7 YEARS!

Dirk plays his best in the playoffs.

KG plays his best early in the season.

A lot of KG's points aren't "quality points"(I stole this from John Thompson talking about McGrady after Doc Rivers was fired). Again, KG is a great oppurtunistic scorer... but can't take games over at the end... at least against quality opponents. At least not as well as Dirk has.

I would rather have Dirk if I am trying to win a championship because he can score "quality points". You can run plays for him or even let him go one on one at the end of games and he will deliver at a high percentage and win you close games. He is dominant offensively. According to 82 games.com he was maybe the most clutch offensive player in the league. Or at the very least, a close second to Shaq.

I would rather have KG if I have a bad team because he can fill a ton of stat coloumns all season long. Night in and night out.

A lot of people don't realize how valuable Dirk is because he isn't flashy. I think this is a big reason why so many people automatically assume that KG is better than Dirk. The weird thing is that KG is still considered an MVP candidate even though he has a ton of help this season where as Dirk was totally passed over under very similar circumstances.

Who's gonna be Player of the Week this week? I think Dirk could really win it this time... 24,7 points, 11,3 rebounds, 3,3 assists while shooting 53% FGs, 54% 3P-FGs and 81% FTs, and of course he led the team when it counted and got them 2 wins against 2 big time contenders!

What do you think about the POTW?

Default RE:Mavs vs. Timberwolves Game Day

good win last night. Nice to see the big three in motion again the new guys pretty much played support(tred??)

on Dirk and KG, they are two totally different animals being asked to do two very different things....Whereas KG is asked to carry his team, Dirk is only asked to help carry his part(a large part yes).
KG is less polished offensivly(I say this only in comparison to Dirk...dont misinterpret...aspects of KG's offensive game are certainly better: post play and passing) and talented on the defensive side of the ball...Dirk can do it all(passing is still coming along) but is limited on the defensive side of the ball. Both are above average rebounders...KG being among the very best and Dirk being a second steer kinda guy.......etc......

two things are for certain: 1:both players are worthy to have an offensive run through them
2: of the two, only KG does.

it is not an argument of equal comparison....both teams are not equally talended(though the pups have seriously closed the gap) and both teams do not ask the same thing from their "super star".....

to me, KG is far more complete than Dirk, but his game is done..he is what he is (and that is right now the best player in the league). But Dirk is still an only partially unearthed diamond...his passing has just now begun to come along, his rebounding is still only two years into real development. GIven a couple more healthy years, I believe Dirk could be right there with KG...as it stand right now, he's pretty close...and is still developing his game. His defense will never be what KG's is, but I they are gifted differently becasue you will never want KG to pull up on the break for a 3......
for many it really comes down to style...who do you like better?

I would love to see what kind of stats Dirk could throw up there if he had an offense run through him..as was promised by Nellie and never as been seen(thanks to the point forward), but this may never happen. Just remember, when you get your panites in a twist about who is better.....you are talking about two of the best 6 players in the league....they are not far apart.....and only one of them is still developing....

Dirk is one of my favorites of all time...I first starting really rooting for the Mavs when I watched the 3 game sweep of the Wolves two years ago. Dirk lambasted KG and the Wolves.

But right at this moment, KG is better. To me, despite the good game last night, Dirk still seems hesitant, a little slowed by his ankles and not as aggressive as I would like him to be. I would love for Dirk to go out and get himself 28 shots.

KG is a little older and I think this is his year to win the MVP. He is so intense, so athletic and so strong. Still, if they meet in the playoffs I don't think the Mavs will have much difficulty with the Wolves, and by that time I bet Dirk will be back at his 30 and 15 self.

Max, it's true! He played excellent defense. Jamison fits in with our style a lot better than Walker. And if Jamison plays like he did lasst night. I say keep him and ship Walker away.

Well I sat the closest I have ever sat for a mavs game last night. I noticed particularly that dirks ankles are unbelievably taped up. He had tape that LITERALLY went half of the way up his shins. Above his socks. Boy I don't know how much mobility that limits him too or not. Maybe they release the taping once he gets stronger.

All I know is hats off to the Dirkster. Quite a warrior, I expect we won't know for many years what he's going through right now.

Jamison played Great defense.................................for one game.

Walker has been playing defense(or at least trying to, anyway) since day one of being a Maverick. I still think Walker stays and if a big trade does happen, Jamison would be gone.

And before Howard's injury, I speculated that Cuban would go with the trade of Best for Melvin Ely...

Now? It doesn't look promising....

I just cannnot make up my mind about the two toines.... Every game seems to be different. There is no doubt that if walker were gone the team would revert back to a big three makeup, which is probalby more efficient. What I don't know is if jamison would buckle-em up and do some good boardwork. I think it would depend on if a decent big were brought in.

A lineup of center-type, jamison, dirk, stevie, finley... or staying with howard starting, jamison off the bench seems like the most natural team balance...

But as I say, I seem to waffle on my opninions game-by-game. Frustrating to me personally. ;^)

ummm, actually they only outscored us in the paint by 2. it was 46-48.

Easy dunks, my man, easy dunks; this is what they were getting. The Mavs are a mediocre team UNTIL they learn to play defense EVERY NIGHT, and start winning at least half of their games on the road, especially against the teams who are mediocre or below. It's ridiculous to score as many points as we did AT HOME, and still have the game be in doubt all the way to the final seconds. How many stops did we get in the final few minutes? And, BTW, why did Nellie go to "slow down" in the last 6 minutes of the game? That only works if you can get stops. If we had gone cold, Minnesota would've won the game. Incidentally, isn't the slow down style more like playoff style basketball? Minnesota came from way back when we started that style.

Why certainly. Last night was particularly frustrating. They were playing zone all night and jumping the three. Even best/howard did quick ball fakes and got within 5 foot of the basket.

It's almost like finley has loads of talent but just not exactly instinctual bball knowledge.

or that he discovered shooting threes to be much more fun than taking the punishment of the drive.

or he does not feel confidence in his handle required

or he has been told to float

etc.

either way, he is missing a major piece of what makes a great 2!....oh well, this has been said before....he has been shooting well from behing the line though, and that was the origianl point!

I hate to break it to you outless pass but I have not gone anywhere.
This quote by you proves everything I have been saying about you. Read it and weep then tell me I misunderstood what you said. LMAO

You sound a little biased and bitter there or are you going to deny that your true colors have just come out in bold type right in front of your eyes.

Why don't you show me the post where I ever bashed anyone on this forum? Why don't you show me the post where I ever broke the rules of bashing where someone didn't bash me first?
Calling someone out and then proving what there real problem is isn't against the rules it is MY opinion.
You have broken the rules in this thread more then I have the entire time I have posted here.
Stop bringing my name into your problems. Can't you see that outless pass is trying to get rid of anyone at this board who he disagree's with and or sticks up for Antoine at all?

Goodnight.

Danny, I'm sorry for bringing your name in this... I was upset at Outlet but didn't want to name-call 'cause I might be the one who suffers if I did. You and he have went at it for quite awhile now and I just find it perplexing that he would attack ME even though I have said NOTHING DEROGATORY(or what HE deems Derogatory) Toward him at all....

And I've PMed Kg_veteran about Outlet's "attacks" and he told me he will deal with him. That's all I ask.

GO MAVS!!!
