That Walker 3 just now was BIG! Back up by 15! Walker is really pulling through lately.

Mo Cheeks got on his team at half time about intesity and rebounding and defense and making the Mavs work for thier buckets and it helped, but will not be enough as the Mavs have weathered the Blazes worst shot.

RE:Blazers @ Mavs
The other half of the big three was solid defensively with five blocks combined. A thank you goes out to Danny Ainge for getting Raef and his big contract off our hands. And bringing Walker to the mavs.
The great thing about this team. Is that the mavs are so unselfish and all good guys.

22 and 11 now.... If Walker can get 2 more rebounds he will have a double-double...
Walker seems to have gotten himself together.

Williams is going to be big help on the playoffs. His game is improving a lot with the Mavs.

RE:Blazers @ Mavs
Impressive lines for Walk and Nash tonight.
Also, a tremendously impressive block line for the team...
Walker 2
Nowitzki 3
Finley 4 (wow)
Fortson 1
Bradley 1
The Mavs are going to win this game because they:
1. Kept the boards even (they're currently up by 2);
2. Defended (11 blocks, 4 steals, .415 shooting by Portland);
3. Passed well (25 assists); and (last but not least)
4. Shot right around 50%.

What a TREMENDOUSLY impressive line from the Three Heads:
44 minutes, 21 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks, 67% shooting (10-15), and a whopping 15 fouls.
That's getting good use out of those players.

4th game in a row that the Mavs have limited their opponent to 91 or fewer points! That's a whole 8.5 below our average points allowed.

I don't think so. He'll never get off the bench unless Dallas trades Walker or Jamison. Plus, he's only known and good for one thing, dunking. If we were to play San Antonio or a good defensive team in the playoffs, he'd be completely ineffective.

Thank you Mavs for a little suspense. Otherwise, it would have been a boring blowout win.
And of course, MORE KUDOS TO WALKER!
He deserves all the love we have... [img]i/expressions/heart.gif[/img]

The pieces are starting to fall into place. The Mavs should be able to beat Seattle on Tuesday and ride a 6 game win streak and some serious momentum out onto the road...
18.9 point margin of victory over the last 5, OP...

RE: Blazers @ Mavs
No thanks. I'll pass on Darius Miles thank you very much. He looks impressive around the rim, but his basketball brains are very very lacking. His atheleticism is literally through the roof, but his skills are high school level. You can have him on your fantasy all cornrow team, but I'd like to keep the Mavs free and pure of athleticism w/o talent, skills, or BBall IQ. Not to mention the fact that his intensity level doesn't appear to be there expect when he is skying for a throw down. Don't let him fool you. The guys a dud.

Don't forget the Houston game. I know we didn't win by much, but when you look at how sluggish we started out, you have to think that is impressive as well. We out scored Houston by 23 points from the start of the second quarter until the end of the game.

I'm really impressed with how the Mavs are matching the "physicality" of other teams.
Early in the season, the Clippers and Blazers pushed this same Mavs team around.
Not this week.

Only watched the second half, and got a little uneasy for a while, but I'll take it.
What has gotten into our defense as of late? 11 blocks is just insane.

In the beginning of the season we had Fortson as our only center option. Najera was injured and Bradley was in and out of the doghouse. With the addition of Williams and having all those guys in the middle the Mavs are showing what they can do inside.

Scott Williams has a nice offensive game for a role playing center. I was impressed by his turnaround on Damon and his ball fake/reverse layup on MIles. I didn't think much of picking him up, but I'm glad we did. A very crafty vet.

RE: Blazers @ Mavs
Nice win. These are officially (if there was any doubt) NOT the Mavs we were watching earlier in the year. To go through such a horrendous shooting slump like we did in the second half and still pull out a 20 point win against a tough opponent is very nice. I'm looking forward with confidence to March on the road. Terrific game by Toine tonight, btw.

On a dourer note, looks like Denver finally remembered that they're Denver. They're sliding fast, losing by 25 tonight. So much for the assist.
