Yeah I was thinking a Howard/Bass/Diop/Stack for Nazr/Okafur/Wallace trade yesterday. It kinda makes sense for both teams, but salary is the issue yet again.

Plus now that Howard is playing again, no chance.

On part two of the db.com "who do we go after" article it says based on stats, financial numbers, and needs of the team...the top target should be Gerald Wallace.

Our team has all the wrong make up. Avery made our team a defensive team or tried because you can not beat the elite teams in the playoffs unless you can play good defense. No team in history has won a title without playing good defense. Jordan teams was great on defense. That is why Diop did good when he was here under Avery.

We needed help at sg and a player that could play offense in the painted area. A power forward slash center that could come in and score in the middle. So what do we do, we trade pg's. It was one of the most stupid trades ever made. The main reason was it ruined the Dallas Mavs for about 3 years and maybe more. They can't do nothing now. They are stuck unless they trade Howard, Terry or Dirk. Then if they trade for trash and screw up again, then it could be another 3 years added to these 3.

Kidd needs to be on a team like GS or Phx. Diop is the last player in the league that needs to play with Kidd. Dampier is also another bad fit with Kidd. Now our team has alot of players that play just one way, either offense or defense but not both and they play with a Phx type pg that needs to run and offense. So yes Diop was a terrible for 5 years but the front office does not know what they want and no sense of direction.

Even with Phx taking a big risk with Shaq, they corrected the next move and helped themself by getting a shooter, slasher that plays Steve Nash basketball. One that is athletic also in Rich. It is things we need to do or us either just flounder around for a few years untill we can do something again but we lost draft pix also in the Kidd trade.

I do not blame Kidd or Diop for floundering around on this team but management. It would not surprise me if now they go out and get an Antoine Walker and stick him on the 3 pt line and say bomb away and play zero defense and then go get Ben Wallace that can't play a lick of offense and stick him under the goal and tell Kidd now give us a title. Won't work, wrong make up.

We are screwed. It is an outside chance we make the right move with a trade but if we screw it up, count us down another 2 years added to the 2 now we are down. That is a trade involving Howard but he is good and you must get good in return. No one will take Kidd, Diop and others on our team. I hope for the best on this team but we have done some stupid things because we did not keep draft pix comming up, plus we are about 7th at best to towards the back of the pack in the west. At this point, we have no sense of direction on what we are trying to do now or in the future.
