Thanks for the wasted possession, Powell... At least Wes bailed us out on the other end!

I'm sure that's part of the reason but I have a feeling he also worked hard on it this offseason and it's paying off

Nice game. Next game, more Noel, less Powell and let's see some Mejri in the middle.

Fun game to watch....still wonder why Noel isn't getting more PT...especially in crunch time. Maybe Rick is saving him for tomorrow.
And not sure what has happened to Mejri, seems we are better when a shot blocker is in the game and he is a difference maker on D.

I would rather play JJ at center than give minutes to Powell over Nerlens and Salah.

I get why they play Powell. They obviously know Noel is better, but there isn't a microorganism that thinks Powell is good. The only way you can trade him is by trying to get something, anything out of him. If you bench him for good, then it's just a dead ten million on the bench through 2020.

@espn_macmahon: Mike Conley on Dennis Smith Jr.: "I love his game. He plays with a great pace, very patient. He’s going to be something special.”

Not playing Mejri last night is a "matchup" that I understand and actually makes sense. Mejri cannot guard Gasol.

I'm not understanding why there is bash on Powell for last nights game. He played hard and made solid decisions.
Coach overplayed Noel in the middle stretch and then left him on the bench too long...even tho Powell was playing well enough to stay in.

What stuck out the most to me with Powell wasn't his 2 blocks at the end but the new defense he was trying on Gasol. The "I'm going to leave you wide open every play so I can stay close to the rim and watch jj barea rebound it" defense.
